Character selection problems (unrest server)

<p><span style="font-size: small;">Much of the time when I try to select a character, I end up at a character select screen, that shows only 4 characters with an indication that the Unrest server is down, even though that server is actually working.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: small;">Exiting and restarting EQ2, usually, but not always, allows me to log into the character I want.</span></p><p>BTW. Please fix the character select screen to work reasonably with accounts that have many characters, Adding a full slider would make the screen much easier to use.</p>

<p>Try deleting your cache and logincache folders. That should remedy the issue.</p>

<p>Deleting the cache folders usually works for a while, but the problem eventually recurs.</p><p>Hpw about fixing EQ2 to not corrupt the caches?</p>

defrag your hard drive.

<p>There are many factors that cause the cache to become corrupted and it is very hard to avoid in the long term due to how often the data is accessed and written to.</p><p>You can also backup and delete the following file to see if it clears this issue up.</p><p><accountname>_characters.ini</p><p>This should force your launchpad to refresh the character list and may improve the situation.  Let me know if this proves useful.</p>
