It looks like you are still running Vista Service Pack 1. Try updating Windows to Service Pack 2, which includes several updates that may resolve your problem.

Thank you for the advice. I have downloaded Service pack 2. I just logged in to EQII and my first zone resulted in a crash - and so it went on. I have been using another PC that runs through the same modem and router and there is no problem at all. The only real difference between the two machines is that the one running fine uses Windows 7.

Here is the crash log from this morning (a bit more than yesterday appended than yesteray):

Unhandled exception EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 0x77818312Application was trying to read from 0xF4C40B36 Region Begins At: 0x00001BEC Region Ends At: 0x0B210ED8 Region Size Is: 0x0B20F2EC bytes Memory Protection: Invalid | PAGE_NOCACHE | PAGE_WRITECOMBINE (536CD652) Memory State: Invalid (0) Memory Type: Invalid (186708640)

Game Data: SOEBuild: SOEBuild=7192T SOEVersionString: SOEVersionString=2010/12/13 13:17:35 OS Version: 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 VER_SUITE_PERSONAL VER_NT_WORKSTATION CPU: 4 x86 GenuineIntel 14MHz RDTSC MSR CMPXCHG8 SSE SSE2 DirectX Version: 10.0  Video Card/Driver: [NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT  ] [nvd3dum.dll] 8.17.12.6099 {d7b71e3e-4554-11cf-bd64-15271cc2c535} Time at crash: Fri Dec 17 10:39:07 2010 Login Server: none Performance: 3 Game Uptime: 171 seconds Position last frame: -0.19, 0.01, -4.87 Zone name: qey_guildhall_tier1 Time in Zone: 20 seconds Previous Zone name: GameScene::ZR_NETWORKED_ZONE_CHANGE Multi-core support: enabled Low-Memory Mode: disabled Resolution: 1440x850 (60 hz) maximized UI: UI/EQ2MAP

Log: Received chat channel update msg... Received chat channel update msg... Received chat channel update msg... Received chat channel update msg... World bounds of (qey_guildhall_tier1) are (-57.482025 -11.954094 -10.000000), (52.944366 210.000000 75.895691) (computed in 0.000s) [0.000s] VeZone loaded Done loading zone resources Done sending initial entities msg Set POV ghost cmd... E:testeq2frameworkresmansrcResourceManager.cpp(201 3): Error loading _exp07/cooked/zones/sourceimages/alpha/ice_alpha_pattern.dds

I noticed the crash occurred while zoning into the Guild Hall. Have you tried lowering down the performance setting before entering that zone? I usually recommend this for players that have issues access their GH. This is in part due to the amount of items, furniture, pets, etc. that is placed inside the GH.
