Hello Sony! I am having yet again "Another issue" with the EverQuest2 Extended "Launchpad" software.. It goes a little something like this..

I power on my PC. I let the PC warm up and get all the updating for my software out of the way for several minutes.. After the PC is warm and all updated that it can be, i then turn off my Anti-virus software. I now then will click the EQ2X icon on my desktop to 'launch' EQ2x.. The Streaming pooloader pops up for about all of one (1) second, then flashes away as fast as it came up on my desktop.

At this point I think W-T-H !!!.. So I open up my windows task manager in WinXP.. I notice there is no Launchpad nor Everquest2 running in my system.. So I give it another shot and try to open EQ2X again, via the icon on my desktop. Again the streaming client crashed within "1" second and vanished gone again.. i did this about 20 times with exact same results. After trying to log into the EQ2X game for about a weeks time and only able to get in and play for about 2 hours before a EQ2 Client crash (no clue why), now this launchpad just strait up failing to launch is so so lame.. heh..

This is just not fun to watch anymore.. Its like watching a really really drunk guy get the hell beat out of him by a sober Pro Fighter.. I just cant witness this anymore, its embarassing for everyone involved.

On the rare chance I do make it into the game, i see people in the game chatting like there is no issue with logging in.. So I sit here and wonder, Why me? is it me? what did i do? is it bad luck? my PC suck? have i missed a basic step?... My [Removed for Content] mind wont stop wondering where the "PROBLEM" lay....

my system:

Windows XP sp2

Nvidia GTS-250

Abit- i35 Motherboard

Intel Duocore O.C'ed 2.8gig

4 gigs of OCZ memory

Raptor HD also a Maxtor 1tb (both run seperate, so i can have one as a back up)

corsair 750 watt pwr.

Also, I have "No" other programs other than EQ2, A/V, EVGA precision. All my ports and firewall exceptions have been input... So now i sit here and /shrug.. What next?... "EVERQUEST NEXT"????.. BAH!

Soandso

After three reboots and going through a Adobe flash uninstall and reinstall.. I am now able to launch the Launchpad. But... (yes there is a but). I notice now, that i have over 5 Gigs of info to download. I had the EQ2X game downloaded in full (that i thought), 13gigs. About three days ago i was having horrible issues with EQ2X in general. I noticed on one of the several 're-tries' of trying to launch EQ2x, that I had 2.85 gigs to download. I call my buddy who plays EQ2live, and ask him if there is a patch (since its fetivus time). He tells me "YES"! its like a 1 1/2 hour download at our speeds (we have same isp). So now i am figuring that I am just downloading a holiday patch, but 2.85 gigs. sheesh, must be one heck of a holiday patch... So i wait and wait for the 2.85 gigs to download, it takes 12 hours. So I'm figuring I downloaded more than the holiday patch, if my buddies patch was only 1 1/2 hour on the same isp speed. I've been having issues loading into the game in general since then, my screen will go green with graphical errors, EQ2client will crash at random, EQ2x Launchpad will hang for countless minutes. But between all that, i can get a "Clean launch" every 1 in 10 times (or so). When I am in the game, it will show that I am downloading files still (walking baby dragon). I also have a horrible time if i have to evac or zone out of the current zone i logged into. It will pull a random 2kb to 50+megs of info to download while im zoning, all the while my HDD light is rock-solid, and taking anywhere from 10sec - 1hr+ (just to zone). Make for hell keeping a group together. all the while im thinking "I did download the 13gigs of the game, what is downloading now"?

Now today, after having issues of the Launchpad launching, I get it to at least open the launchpad and start its proccess, I then notice i have over "5GIGS" of info to download.. ! OMG, [Removed for Content]... SERIOUSLY??? thats like a full 24 hours of downloading for me.. this sucks royal..so Royal..

I followed a link here in this forum board to a EQ2 streaming client.. I downloaded it.. I noticed that it was not for EQ2 Extended, but EQ2 live. The two Launchers look close to the same, but i notice one fundamental difference. The EQ2 live pathcer was "Smooth like silk".. it didnt hang at all between its functionings. To where the EQ2X patcher is like trying to start a car with water in its cylinders.. Why is this so...? and can Sony "PLEASE" swap out the current EQ2X Launchpad client with the EQ2 LIVE streaming client??? Pretty [Removed for Content] Please!.. For the short moment i thought that this new EQ2 streaming client patcher was the one for EQ2X, and i thought i was a Idiot for not having the current version.. heh. but after it running so smothly i suspected something and notice "Extended" was no where to be found only EverQuest 2, thats when i realized it wasnt a new Launchpad client.. /sigh.. and it was operating normal too.. /sigh... I guess its back to downloading this random 5.8 Gigs of info, then tomorrow i'll try to log into the game... /sigh..../scream@SoE!

Soandso
