ATI HD5870 WIn7 - popup bubles appear => FPS goes down

<p>So I got Win 7 and a decent graphic card (HD5870) on a decent CPU (i7 920) + 6GB DDR3.</p><p>The FPS is ok until a win7 popup buble appears in the task bar. For example, if I have like 100FPS, I will drop to 13 when the popup appears.</p><p>Is there anything I can do to prevent that ?</p><p>Oh yes, I'm working on preventing the popups from appearing and I already got rid of the thumbnail ones but I still have the basic popups bothering me.So I'm more looking for advices on how to prevent the FPS drop when the popups appear.</p><p>Cheers</p>

<p>Bump</p><p>No feedback at all ?</p><p>Not even a: "that's how it is because ATI graphic cards suck ..."</p><p>Am I the only one to have this problem and is there really nothing to do ?</p><p>I suspect maybe there is some transparency (or any kind of GPU demanding treatment) applied when the popup come up but that's just a pure assumption.</p><p>++</p>

<p>Can you give us more details on the popup that appears?  Have you been able to disable it since then?</p>
