Unfortunately, Sony Online Entertainment does not support multi-boxing OR logging into multiple accounts on one PC simultaneously. As of the last patch, this functionality has been removed completely. That being said, I can provide you with the following work-around for your multi-account needs:1. Download the EverQuest 2 Installer again from the following linkRemoved link so you dont screw your shortcuts up 2. Run EQII_setup, and in the first screen of the installation wizard change the Install Folder to a *New* directory (EG: C:Sony2). Finish the installation.3. Launch your original Launchpad --> Login to one account --> Hit Play.4. Next, Launch the newly-installed Launchpad from the new directory --> Login to the second account --> Hit Play.5. Enjoy playing on several accounts at once!I can't guarantee that this will work forever, but hopefully it provides a fix for what you are trying to accomplish. If you have any other questions or issues please don't hesitate to contact us again and we'll be happy to assist you. This is the reply to a e-mail sent to soe.

Since when? Other than the last issue with having to have two installations of the game I haven't had any problems and was playing an hour ago with both accounts.

Edit: Unless that is what you are actually talking about and if so that happened over a month ago.

I'm running two accounts on the same machine off of one install right now with no issues... haven't had to do anything different than I've always done.

Yah, standard advice applies. If you want to mult-client on one PC, don't use the streaming client, or you'll need two seperate installs.

Using the standard client, it continues to work merrily with only one install needed.

-Ken

Ahhhh! That explains it -- I use the regular client

Does anyone have a link to where you can get the regular client these days? The only ones I can find are to the streaming client and the Station Launcher (which is awkward to use with multiple installations).

This is going all the way back to EQ1 in 1999, it works but if you have issues it is up to you to resolve it with assistance form fellow technically orientated players on the forums

My configuration for multiboxing utilizes one install of the patcher on the main copy. I have 3 other directories that are copies of the original directory, and a couple on other machines in my network. After the patcher completes on the first instance I run a batch file that does a copy of any changed files to the other 3 local directories and those that reside on other machines over the wire. The launcher only patches the first directory, the batch file patches the other 3 directories. Perfected this method way back near the start of eq1 and have used it ever since.

As explained somewhat earlier to dual box right now you have to have 2 launchers. First launch the game from the default launcher that installs with the game when you download it. After you have this up and running then launch the game with the Station launcher thats available (google station launcher) and then login to your "other" account thru that launcher, and wala you're now dual boxing.

Just a little word of advice. The games own dedicated launcher will not load up the game if you already have the game running via the Station launcher, or have the game running already under a different account thru the dedicated launcher. You have to launch the game just like I described above or it doesn't seem to want to work.

If anybody else have any other info to add on this subject I wouldn't mind hearing what you have to say. I base my advice here on my own personal experience, as this is what I do daily to daul box myself.

Use launcher as well, I three box off one PC out of one install directory, I just set in game text logging off. Run launcher and then I run the eq2 client directly for the successive eq2 instances. I do have to play the stupid game of run game client 2 check that its not on the same core as game client one via task manager (with this method) if it is, exit the game, relaunch and hope it gets auto assigned to an unloaded core, some times I get lucky and all three launches are assigned different cpu cores to run on, other times I may have to launch/quit/launch up to six or seven times. If they do have a way to improve cpu/client core assignment via a command line switch for the eq2 client, I'd love to know cos then I'd just make 3 commands with the switches in and multi boot from one batch file, extra kudos if you can tell it from the command line where to place the windows on the screen too so you don't have reposition them all every time.

Speed and performance become a non-issue, as no matter what you do, it's OMG fast. But disk space becomes all important - and blowing another 15G on each install becomes a very, very painfull thing to do.

-Ken

I log 3 accounts in all the time from the same launcher, I think it is the original launcher from SOE, the only other launcher on my desk top is the one for beta. I just logged in 4 accounts on the same PC with the same launcher.

Can someone link the post or explain how to log in each account to a different core? And how to tell what core you are logged into, I think all of m account’s log into 0 at the same time.
