I will admit that I may be missing something, but...

I am playing in the hole and I put the Gruengach illusion on, so everything hates me - which is fine to start with. I go and kill a bunch of mobs and get my Defenders faction up to -39,900 - non-kos anymore, right? Well, so it seems...until I TAKE OFF the illusion and my Defender factiom DROPS BACK TO -49,900! What? Do I only get 1 real faction for every 10 I earned while in the illusion? I am pretty sure it did not work like this for another character! Or is this another effect of the server merge happening today and faction changes are not sticking because of it?

Needless to say, I am a bit unhappy at the moment.

No bug, that's working as designed.

Without the disguise on, killing one wings mobs drops your faction with that wing, and raises the faction of the other two. This way, you can kill your way into the hearts of two factions, at the expense of faction for the one you're killing. I think this is what you intended to do.

With the disguise on, all three factions get set to a fake -50,000. Kills while the disguise is on only affects the fake faction. As soon as you take the disguise off, your faction resets to whatever it was when you put it on. The opposite of what you intended.

The purpose of the disguise is to be able to do things in the hole *without* harming your faction. (ie, you disguise who you are, so they don't know whose killing them, and thus who to hate). So if you need to kill a pack of rats for a hole quest (for faction), or a signature quest, or just for giggles - you can do so without cratering your rat faction by putting the disgues on. It prevents your real faction from going down (and also from going up).

Conandar wrote:

Needless to say, I am a bit unhappy at the moment.

Yup, unfortunatly the disguise did just what it's supposed to do, just not what you wanted it to do.

-Ken
