I'm having the same problem. I get to "Entering game as" and the client crashes

Same here.

Pretty sure it's fetish nightfall.

From my crashlog: Eq2GuiPersonaWindow::processFactionUpdateCmd()Do you guys still have a eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml in your fetish dir atm?

At least deleting that file was what I had to do at the time of the update where we got currency and mount tabs to get eq2 working again with fetish.

Probably causing the crashes now?

As a solution I tried to copy the default eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml to my fetish but that didn't work.

Would be nice if EQ2 devs at least checked their updates with the few most popular UIs before going live, or give those UI developers a heads up about what's coming. This is getting annoying since it happens every big update.

Same problem here, I can get to character select but cannot load into the game. I don't use Fetish, though, I use DrumsUI. So it might be a custom UI problem, but not specifically Fetish.

And if you open EQ2_crash.log in your EQ2 dir, with for example notepaddo you have the similar bottom line in this section?Log: Not VF_AUTO Not VF_AUTO Not VF_AUTO Not VF_AUTO Not VF_AUTO Not VF_AUTO Not VF_AUTO Not VF_AUTO Not VF_AUTO Eq2GuiPersonaWindow::processFactionUpdateCmd()

Shazzie

No. There is nothing 'gui' or 'persona' related in my crash.log. In the 'Log' section there is only this:

Log: <ALERT> E:liveeq2frameworkcoreutilsrcFiler.cpp(3514): STREAM File [9425CC3179D343FB] expected CRC[9C6A] recd[5E78]

I am having similar problems today. After reviewing the threads and the behavior of my machine I think something else is going on.

I am running Windows Vista Business on a laptop with the game installed on a USB flashdrive so this may not apply to your situation. I am using the streaming client to start up the game. The only UI mod I use is EQ2MAPS.

When I first got to the character select window it said that it needed to download 256 Mbytes for an update. At this point the window appeared to hang and I got the "not responding" status in task manager. However it appears that the game is downloading, just slowly. Perhaps the servers are overloaded with thousands of people trying to update. This used to happen when expansions came out and it would take hours for the game update. Now they slip out chunks early and this maybe happening today.

I have tried the delete files tricks but when I restart the game they just get reset. I think this is a case where you just have to wait out the update.
