For the past 3 weeks my game will not launch after a patch is done. After the game updates and I click "Play", the game trys to start but never opens. Task manager shows the process is running, but it shows that everquest 2 is not responding. At that point I have to restart the computer. I have tried running full file scans, doing maintainence on my computer, running antivirus, doing check disk and also defragmenting, of which none have helped. The only way I have found to get past this is to restore the computer to the previous day before the patch and then re-run the patch. After restoring the computer, the game loads and runs fine. I do not want to be restoring my computer every time there is a patch. Anyone encounter a similar problem and found a fix for it?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I have also downloaded the station laucher with hopes that a different launcher would fix it..to no avail. Also I am running windows XP.

I am having this same issue. It's rather frustrating! I've had to reinstall and/or roll my pc back the last 3 fixes. Bah.

If I have to reinstall the whole game again I am going to be really upset. Does anyone know what to do? This is really lame!

Having this issue as well - it updates sucessfully, I select character, begin to enter game and the client crashes. Was in just fine before the update, so it's got to be something in the update.

Edit to add: I tried launching from both the Station Launcher and the .exe with the same result. Both ways get the client has stopped working error and you have to close the program.

I don't have a crash log file in my directory. Although I am not technically "crashing" either as I can't even get the game to start. Is there any other info that I can send to you in place of this?

It figures this happens when frostfell comes I went ahead and took the game off my pc and am now reinstalling it. Ugh. I hope the rest of you manage to get back in <3

I was online yesterday for a bit checking my toons. This morning after the patch (there was a patch right?) I could not get into eq2.

Rebooted PC, used Station Launcher and eq2 exec, both as normal user and administrator, then went and told it to do a fill scan of files. Nothing helps.

I did find 2 crashlogs and will be happy to send them forth is it would help with the problem debugging.

Joe

update. I sent 2 Pms to Autenil with my crash logs from today.

Well I ultimately decided to do a restore of my computer to yesterday, as I wanted to get back into the game. Game has patched and loaded fine since the restore. So for now the game is working. Will have to wait for the next game patch to see if the issue returns.

Mine is doing the same thing.. I get to the character select screen just fine.. then as i start to load in.. the client crashes. Worked fine last night right before the update.
