So as this had been announced, how do you think this will affect our class overall? To be quite honest I am a little worried its actually going to take our dps down more. While overtime we may still be able to do the same on raids etc our spike damage will suffer a lot. I really wish they would take our class more serious. We don't need to shuffle around how our dps works..

I'm not worried about shared stats, IMO most (if not all) necros will see an increase in DPS for two reasons : Pet's 100% crit chance will offset the lose of other stats (that will be a huge boost in groups, not so much in raids). Necros will get better stats from "normal" mage gears (iow no more crappy Legendary/older tiers items we keep only for pet effect or getting less Pot/CB/recast/cast speed/+Mod than other mages 'cause our gears have pet focus on them) thus necro's personal DPS will go up.

If anything "destroy" the necro class in Velious, it will be SDA and DoT caps, not shared stats.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this will benefit the conjies more, since 75% of their total damage comes from their pets and with us it's vice-versa. As for raiding summoners... at first glance I believe the gap between the necro and conjy will become bigger. If the shared stats will be applied on our swarm pets as well and if they will become AoE immune, then I will just have to see how it will turn out. But for now I'll stick with "This is conjy love."

But that is just speculation.. the only real way to know is to see what kind of mage gear will be available when velious comes out. I am personally hoping for more cast/reuse speed :p

Actually, we've been guessing that your pets should actually get beefed up a bit with this update. At least when this comes live you guys will have a bit less regearing than us so you'll start out ahead of the game! =) But, yeah, this is all just a best guess till Beta testing starts.

I think it's a great thing for balance and itemization purposes. It'll give necros a boost since we don't have Plane shift or access to enough power flux gear to get our pet critting. It'll also give us a reason to get ability mod on gear since it's useless for us now.

TBH I dunno what to think of the changes I think its a lazy blanket move. It was interesting to gear up a monster necro pet though even if its for an alt. I think they coulda been more generous with pet crit chance on gear and or AA and nerf Destructive forces and call it a day.
