I was wondering if at the higher levels (50+), it is as easy to solo as it is the lower levels. I'm just starting out but SK"s seem to be a power house with even, yellow and even some orange mobs with just average gear. Does the soloing change when the mobs become more dynamic or will a decent SK keep up with the mobs in the game? Basically, does it scale so what I expierence at the low levels I should expect at the high levels?

Second side question: I've played for years and I am just coming back. How would a SK compare to a Fury for soloing. I know the fury well and it's a great class but the SK at the lower levels seem to handle mobs a little bit better. Does this change as I know fury's can solo well all the way?

Thanks

Ive been playing a shadowknight for many years.

Solo wise they just get better and better with every level and every AA point.

My AA build (maxed) is pretty much set for solo (DA, imp FD etc etc) and trust me its by far the most fun class i have played in any game. I very rarely raid so most of my equipment is from quests, PvP (which i hate), group content, A love of tinkering and a few LON trinkets. Being a UK player on a US server means most of the time i solo as there are very few players around during the daytime and love to test myself in content i really shouldnt be soloing.

Not only can SKs take a hell of a beating you have so many things to use when it all goes wrong, DA (if specced), FD and evac to name a few.

A major advantage of the SK is the ability to handle any encounter. We do pretty good against single targets (just watch out for mana drainers) but against grouped mobs we excell and clad in plate armor you dont need to worry about being in tight spots like some other classes.

I dont have any alts past L25ish so i cant comment on other classes but i think this shows how much fun the class is when all i want to do is spend my time playing this charactor.

Yes atm we are overpowered, but even before we were turned into Gods and i hardly ever bumped into another SK there was just something about the class that made me betray my Pally, maybe the lore, maybe not being a goody anymore or maybe like a few others i saw potential in an under-played class......... look at us now!

Im sure in time we will go back to being a support Tank as Guards get more love but i was used to that playing a Pally plough Tank in EQ1 who couldnt solo worth a crap either. Sony can Nerf the SK class to oblivion for all i care, we will still be the best explorers/soloers in the game based on equal equipment.

Seriously sit back and enjoy the ride, bring on Velious!

Thanks for the reply and the good news. I'm having a lot of fun for sure.

I'm guessing pally's generally the same viability with better heals but a bit less dps. Sound accurate?

Paladins are the defensive Crusaders, but our heals have been pretty much neutered by the developers. The ability to tank is generally the same, and all other things being relatively equal, the SK is going to do more DPS with the same survivability as a Paladin.
