I recently started playing a templar. I have always been a dps focused player and so when i have gone to end game before i have been one in a million. I want to actually experience everything EQ2 has to offer so i am taking a templar to 90. I am currently locked at level 30 with 81 AA points to farm some tokens for myself to move up with. Looking for an answer to a few questions for anyone who has the time. Thanks.

1.) In pvp i am getting blown out in heals in BG's. Should it be this way in lower tiers? From my impression of the Templar class they are pure healers. So upon creation i kind of figured thats what i would be the best at but basically both druid classes are smoking me, i beat inquis, haven't been in yet with warders.

2.) AA spec is a bit confusing. I went down STR line for steadfast though i am a bit confused if that is an ongoing ability or a proc of some sort. I also went down INT for casting speed and divine recovery. I skipped the templar tree because i was not sure on if i should be using it at low lvl since i was just trying to spec for heals. Though the cure line looked interesting and i would love some feedback on that. I then went into shadows 5 in pwr, then 5 in health. 21 points distributed throughout the second line basically for increased mit on abilities and then for the stances. Though i am not sure if i am wasting time being in the stance line since i am going for pure healing/debuffing.

3.) I am feeling like a mirror will be needed for this class even at lower tiers. I do solo quite a bit and i realize that a pure heal spec will lead to me banging my head against the desk when i am trying to solo quest for AA/lvls.

4.) Really just looking for any advice on the things listed above and maybe even some ideas for a dps spec for making my mirror choice to solo with.

1) I never did BGs pre-90, but I suppose it's not too much different. At low level you'll miss out on stuff like sanctuary, divine guidance, repent, etc. Templars, especially at lower level, don't really have more healing potential than inquisitors. Druids have the most healing potential (as well as the most wasted heals), and they are able to heal the relic damage in gears, where reactives and wards are useless. I wouldn't be especially surprised to see a druid beating out a templar in heals, especially at lower levels.

2) Steadfast is a permanent ability that activates after you've stopped moving for 2 seconds. It's currently somewhat bugged with the stifle prevention, but you can't get full stifle immunity from it until higher level anyways. There is no buff icon in your windows, but it works most of the time. For PvP, divine aura is pretty hot if you want to spend the points to get it. It's fairly useless outside of PvP though for a templar. In the templar tree the heal from the group cure is ok, though group cure reuse is stupid long in PvP. The 10s boost to sanctuary is handy at times, but again you're too low level to get sanctuary so it wouldn't help your setup.

3) For soloing I'd probably go str then go 4/10 sta and 4/10 agi. Get smites in the templar tree.
