There was a problem confirming the size of the file C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest IIlp_tempUIDefaulteq2ui_mainhud_tutorial.xml.

Station launcher will try again after 5 seconds.

The launcher gives me this error upon nearly completing it's scan.

Launching the game from the folder results in an error as well.

The streaming launcher is a joke, please don't suggest it.

This problem should now be fixed. Let us know if you are still receiving the xml error.

As of this morning (4am Eastern Time) I was still getting the ".xml" error, but it was with Inventory Merchant (which I believe is another that was mentioned in a few threads) ... Sorry.

I was unable to reproduce this error on my end using an existing installation and a brand new one. Have you tried deleting that particular file or the lp_temp folder?

I'm not really sure that would have help (deleting lp_temp) I had tried that before, and had no success whatsoever. BUT, I did find a resolution...

I wound up resolving the situation by using the old Launchpad application that came installed with Sentinel's Fate. I had read somewhere in another thread about this particular workaround.

Here's what I did (don't know if this will help or not, I guess add it to the possible resolutions)

Uninstalled ALL SOE stuff (Station Launcher, all instances of Everquest II, even Legends of Norrath) Made sure no SOE folders remained. Emptied Recycle Bin. I even went through the registry (not recommended for the faint of heart) and deleted all mention of "Sony Online Entertainment" ... even searched through my Firewall Exceptions to make sure nothing was listed... Rebooted, checked, all looked clear and quiet.

Reinstalled from my Sentinel's Fate (Collector's Edition, retail pkg). Ran the Launcher, let it hit the XML error. Exited. Ran the old Launchpad application that installed from the DVDs. Let it update, signed in, let it download all the files. No XML errors! Even told it to download all optional content. No issues. Signed in to the game, just to be sure, loaded like a champ. Signed out, then used Station Launcher. Logged in, told it to do a Full Scan, reported no issues. Launched game, worked like a pro.

I guess I'll keep the Launchpad app around, in case the Launcher gets messed up again.

I REALLY prefer having the Station Launcher app. It's nice to have a single stop to select my SOE games from.

Hope this helps out!
