So I reinstalled the game after being away for 1.5 years. Started on a new computer. Windows 7 with 8GB mem and a new 1Gb vid card.

Game downloaded fine. Let it complete the whole download, it goes to character select. Lets me choose a character but wont log into game. Bounces straight back to character select screen. Ive updated DirectX, Adobe Flash. Checked for updated Windows 7 drivers.

I tried the Streaming Client Launcher. Deleted old launcher and installed a new one, now it says I need to download 12.6more GB of info.

Can anyone give me any suggestions or tips. I was rather hoping to fix this but maybe it will have to wait till Monday and Tech support opens up.

Did you reinstall the normal EQ2 or did you perhaps install the Freeport launcher by mistake?

I went to the main site and under get the game tab did the download. Waited the day for it to totally install on the comp and nothing. Came here and tried the station launcher link you showed me and still nothing. Right now its got about 7 MB still preloading as game assets but even when it had fully loaded it didnt work. Not sure what I am missing. Will probably have to call in the am and get them to walk through it. Just had a free whole weekend and thought might be nice to reaquaint myself with the game.

Try the suggestions found in the knowledge base article below:

[EQII] Kicked Back to Server Select Upon Entering Game

I see this might cause an issue as my ISP address does start with 192. but I havent changed anything in the years that I had played so not sure why it wouldn't now. But I will call in the morning since I have no clue how to fix it. The knowledge base doesnt give clear instructions at all. Thanks for the tip.

Just a note, I did configure the router as found in the knowledge base but it didnt work so Ill try calling in the morning.

So still no luck fixing this. Tried three other things so far and nada. Now to let SOE work on figuring out whats wrong. Figures just when I get the urge to reactivate something goes wrong.

It was ISP provider blocking ports 32800 to 33000 on a switch at his end. Opened those up and all fixed. Thanks though.
