I stop playing for a few months, and as a result, I got more than 3 counts of different bugs staring me down.. making me regret this decision. After looking through the support forums, I found one of the issues addressed (Station Launcher) while the other ones are cases of missing graphics.

The Station Launcher, well.. I posted where that belongs so lets move on.

The Cast Bar. This is the first on my list of lame. That being said, let me explain that the bar does not "cast" it merely says the name of the spell I'm casting and then disappears. No activity. No motion. Just black with text. Just weak.

Several equipment images are not available, instead I have a white square in it's place. Namely the Surging Essence of Aeteok. Not as big of a deal as the Cast Bar, but something tells me they're related.

How'd it get so rough like that?

Cannot click on, to utilize, Dock Bells or just about any travel device or spell portal.

Some of those bugs are just you, a full scan or reinstall might help.

Casting Bar: Works for the rest of us. (ie, they didn't simply make it useless on general principals, yours is just broken for some reason)

Broken Item Icons: Same answer. The item you mentioned looks fine to me.

XP Bar: That they did screw with on general principals. As part of the launch of EQ2 Extended they wanted a bigger, dockable, XP bar, and yes, we all hate it. You can undock it, shrink it, and tuck it somewhere where it's less annoying. But for most of us, a 3rd part UI is about the only way to make it acceptable.

Bells: Same answer as the first two. Again, your install sounds broken.

-Ken

Are you perhaps using a 3rd party UI that you've not updated? They changed the travel UI a bit, and it broke most 3rd party UI's until they caught up..... Could explain your bells and casting bar problems.

-Ken

*whistles innocently*... *deletes post*.... (not really)

It was just a thought, as you point out, one that didn't apply.

Thank you for trying to help but, please have a suggestion ready. Not just an obvious point, I KNOW it works for the majority of players, that's WHY it's an issue for me.

I figure it would be handy to be more clear that I use the default UI

I want to get an official reply before I decide to do a full reinstall. That should be a last resort, especially since the program runs. I cast spells, but the animation of the bar is missing. I use the item, just the icon is missing. Menu from the travel bells/ports, they never display but I can certainly see the spell or bell itself.

I cant get over how badly they beefed the Exp bar...

Sorry, I thought I had both:

Observation: Regarding the casting bar, travel items, and broken icons, I was attempting to point out, not *knowing* if you were aware - that this is not something that was done to everyone. After all, this is Sony, it would not be entirely unexpected if while you were away they decided you didn't need a casting bar, or travel bells, and screwed up everyone's icons. I was merely trying to let you know this was not the case, in case you were thinking it was.

Suggestion: Your install sounds [Removed for Content]'d. I would suggest at the very least a full rescan, and if that doesn't work, a full re-install.

Edit: We crossed posts. If a full reinstall is easy for you, I'd say do it. If it's difficult (slow line, long download, no media, etc..) - I can understand waiting. Just be aware you almost certainly *could* have the game reinstalled in the time you're waiting.

And yah - Seriously. Nobody likes the new XP bar. Go find the thread from when it appeared - it was one of longest threads in recent history.

-Ken

Was I supposed to wait out the problem?

or wait, are you waiting me out??

Is the only answer to do a full reinstall, that seems excessive.

If your installation is corrupted, you may want to consider using the EverQuest II Streaming Client first before attempting a complete reinstall using the Station Launcher. The streaming client only requires a small download before letting you into the game. You can then verify whether or not some of the game's UI is still broken for you.
