Read the response from the other locked thread but it did not help. any other suggestions? I was fine until yesterday. I fully log one account (both on same comp) and then I open launcher (updated as I just re downloaded the game completely today) and all the 2nd one says is "starting" but never does.

Right-click the Everquest Extended icon on your desktop and select "Open File Location".

Fine the "Everquest2" icon (Light blue EQ symbol, mouseover identifies it as "EQ2 Client Application").

Right-click that and select "Open" (or just double-click).

Let it load, then enter your details in the Login box that pops up.

Pain in the neck but it works.

It is not EQ2x. Would something similar work for normal EQ2?

Tried to find an alternative log in other than launcher on EQ2 but nothing other than failure.

To get it working on my system I have one game installed in the default location. I then installed a 2nd copy of the game in a folder called "EverQuest II (2nd)" inside of the Installed Games folder. I load into my first character completely before launching the 2nd client.

I have this problem as well. 1st account loads fine. Second account stops at Starting on the Launcher.

I am having this exact same problem also. The first account I launch works fine (doesn't matter which account), but the second account just hangs at Starting. I also noticed that it does not show preloading assests on the second account. It is like it is loosing connection when the Play button comes up. I created a touble ticket, and support said to setup port forwarding, which I did, but it still does the same thing. I never had a problem until just a few days ago. It sounds like a problem with the launcher.

Since there are several people experiencing this same issue, it appears to be an issue with the game. Is there anyone from Sony who is monitoring these posts that can get us some useful information? If I can't get this issue fixed, my second account is not worth having, and I am considering moving to a new game altogether.

i guess ill have to watch stationcash store probley will have to buy a fix

Well, I really did not want to give up the disk space, but I copied my EQ2 folder and renamed it, so I have 2 complete copies of the game. After doing that I can launch EQ2 from the two seperate folders and play both accounts again.

The second installation worked for me. I just changed the last folder to 2EverquestII. So now of course there are 2 icons to start the game on the desktop-one for each account.

Im sure everyone has been having a VERY frustrating time over the last week or two.

For people who have two accounts running on one machine it has been very painful. I run three accounts off of one machine and i couldnt get my 2nd or 3rd acccount to load. It was just stuck on the launch pad saying "starting". It never did start. By the way i run all three instances from one installation.

Heres what i had to do and it worked for me.

I deleted all eq2 shortcuts from my desktop.

I went into my eq2 folder to find the "Launch Pad" icon and copied a short cut to my desktop. I nameed the icon EQ2_1

I then copied the whole sony folder to another destination and again went in and found the "launchPad" icon and copied it to desktop and called this EQ2_2

i did this one more time for my third acount called the icon EQ2_3

Stone me it worked.

I do have to ask the question as to why i have to do this and i have no answers im afraid, but i do know that i tried lots of different options, but this one really worked for me.

I've ran multiple accounts together for a couple of years now with no issues and suddenly the past few days it's been a royal pain.

From what I have been informed is that due to the way the streaming engine works it is difficult to dual box with the streaming client from one installation. They are looking for alternate options to bypass the need for multiple installations of the game. Unfortunately, we do not have an eta on when this will take place.

No idea where the "difficult to dual box" thing came from because I've been doing it for almost a year now on a very middle of the road laptop.

Recent changes to the streaming client have made it difficult. I will defiantly shoot out an update once I receive more information on this.
