Oh Cant I

Still having the exact same issues since GU58. Whatever was done today did not address that. To date I have:

Installed DirectX 9.0, googled-found-D3DX9_31.dll and dropped it into the EQ2 file folder, disabled the ATI Catalyst Control Center anti-aliasing and set the refresh rate to match what I have set up in-game, completely turned off the ATI-CC.

None of those things...done as sugested by others in these forums...has made the least bit of difference. Once a character of mine has crashed with the fatal error message referencing DirectX, I must load that character on another computer in order to be able to play it on my main machine.

I filed a bug report detailing all of this last week in game...in total frustration.

If I set the game to windowed mode on this machine, I am able to play for 1-2 hours without crashing, then exit the game, reboot, and start again. That's only if I don't try to zone in and out of the guild hall or my house.

Using ATI Radeon Xpress 200 which is on the MB in this machine and running Windows XP, home edition. Any more suggestions?

The ATI Radeon Xpress 200 is not a supported video card, so you will most likely run into problems trying to play EverQuest II.

[EQII] Latest Supported Video Devices and Device Drivers

Player housing and Guild Halls tend to have a lot of information that needs to load due to all the items, furniture, pets, etc. Lowering down your performance setting may help.

Supported or not, I have been playing EQ2 on that same machine for about 4 years with absolutely no problems...until GU58. Any other suggestions perhaps?
