The launchpad "stops responding" every time I try to start the game. It gets to "checking game" and just freezes.

Why is this? It was fine yesterday. And what can I do to solve this?

I have tried deleting all files concerned with the launchpad, but that did not help. Still stops responding.

Update now is that on occation (so no, not every time) I get through to where it says updating the game and tells me I have a 48.1Mb update to go through. But the launchpad still freezes at this stage, after about 100Kb.

What is wrong with my launcher, and what can I do to fix it? My OS is Windows XP. I'm trying to connect to the EU english version.

Since it was working fine up until today, I'm wondering if some update from SoE to the launchpad has caused this problem.

I'm also now 8 hours into this problem, and would appreciate support soonest.

Try going into your EverQuest II directory and deleting the lp_temp folder then try re-patching. You may also want to consider using the EverQuest II Streaming Client which can be found here.

The streaming client will only require a small download before letting you into the game. It will patch the rest of the game in the background.

This is with the streaming client.

I've checked the logs on our end and noticed that you were getting .cpp errors. Are you launching the game using the default shortcut (launchpad.exe) or launching the game directly from EverQuest2.exe?
