This just started happening today. If I camp to character select I end up with two instances of EQ2 running on the same account. Obviously this is not working as intended and is a bit annoying, but the real issue I have with it is account security. Is someone trying to hack my account or is there an issue with login servers today?

I am unable to reproduce this issue on my end. Are you using the old launchpad, Station Launcher or Streaming Client? Do you see 2 applications present in your Windows Task Manager?

To get to the task manager press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC. You can either check the applications tab and or the processes tab.

I had twoapplications open in my task bar at the same time. I could toggle between the two instances using the Win 7 task bar preview window. I didn't check the task manager at the time. I will look into that ASAP.

I am using a shortcut I made from inside the EQ2 folder, so I suppose it is the old launchpad. I am also running EQ2 Maps, Profit UI, and ACT if that makes a difference.

When you get the chance please post up your information located in your shortcut's target line.

To pull that information you can do the following:

1. Right Click on the game's shortcut and select properties.2. Go to the Shortcut tab and copy the contents of the "Target:" field into this thread.

I find this interesting since as of late I have started having a CTD situation on occasion while zoning and I am also showing two instances of EQ2 running in my taskbar when this occurs. I am able to togle back and forth between the two however both are completely frozen. I though am running VISTA (I know) and the programs are not only showing up on as seperate on an alt+tab situation, but I also have two representative programs showing up on my main Windows Toolbar which I can go back and forth between-- one showing a visual picture of the frozen screen and the other completely black.

As requested, this is my shortcut's target: "C:SonyEverQuest IIEQ2.exe"

I haven't experienced this problem the last few days, but it is worrisome that it could be a potential security breach. Since the poster above is also seeing a similar issue this could be a pathway for account hackers.

The next time this happens please open a support ticket and pm me the incident reference number. I will follow up with you to grab your system information to determine what is going on.
