Greetings,

I have been having this issue since GU 58 was released. I had thought that it would have been resolved with one of the hot fixes since then but it is still occurring. It does not happen every time however about 1 in 4 times that I zone - independant of where I am - I will be thrown out of the game and pushed down to the character select screen where I will be unable to log back in as I recieve an error stating that I already have a character in the world.

This is a new behaviour since GU 58 and has never happened previously. There have been no changes to my computer, hardware or any software that I use at home. I have ruled out an internet issue as I am fully capable of reaching the internet and browsing to any websites when this occurs (yes I have tried non-cached sites) I do not use any custom UI apart from the EQ2 map updater - which I have always used.

Additionally I have lowered my settings in game back to balanced as some had suggested that similar issues were being caused by a custom video setup - this has not resolved my issue.

Is there any ETA as to when this issue will be resolved or looked at on your end please?

There is a possibility that you are timing out when trying to zone. See if the knowledge base article below helps out.

[EQII] Fixing zoning problems in Everquest 2

If the problem persists please open a support ticket so we can have you run a few network tests to try and diagnose the problem.

I'll then check the logs to see if I can determine why you are getting dropped.

Had a similar problem myself. Crashing roughly every 5 zonings and sometimes while runniong across zones. After several uinhelpful replies to my In-game service 'question', such as, please ensure you have latest drivers etc., I started changing options. Cured mine by switching off Shader 3. Since I switched back to Shader 1 no more crashes.

Incidentally I was also crashing every time I exited EQ2. No matter how I left the game it would crash. Windows would catch it but no log. This too has stopped happening.

Greetings,

The settings for my routers and firewall is fine as I have been playing this game long before GU 58 and all ports were already set up properly. In addition I have played other MMO games on this computer and they are fine also. This is specifically an issue with EQ2 and something that was changed in GU 58.

I will try to get the details next time it happens for you Rothgar. Thank you.
