(D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE)

00b1ed48

Further info:

I played eq2 until around midnight last night (10/31). Shut my computer down for the night, and didn't turn it back on until I got home from work this evening on 11/1. Computer booted up fine, but monitor didn't come on. Switched video cable from the bottom video card to the top video card, and now the monitor works, but computer is saying that there is a problem with the bottom video card. 27" monitor appears to have a black frame around the edge, and now looks like a 25" monitor.

OS = Window 7 64-bit. I've been looking on forums and it seems like there might be a driver bug happening?

I have 2 video cards that are:

eVGA, e-GeForce 8800 GTS 670MHz, 512MB DDR3 1940MHz, PCIe x16 SLI, DVI /2, HDTV/S-Video/Composite Out

Can you disable SLI and test each card individually? The video card installed under the first one or the PCIE slot may have failed. In regards to your monitor, what is the brand name and model?

(Code 43) (this is what it says on the one video card, but if 1 card is not working, why wouldn't the 2nd card be able to handle the game?

Monitor is barely 3 months old - Samsung 27" P2770H.

Again, everything was fine last night around midnight when I logged off on 10/31. Come home from work as usual, boot up, and the computer is not recognizing the monitor. Move the plug to the other video card port, and the monitor is recognized. Only difference is the screen. It's like there is a black box around the outside of the viewing area...appears to be 25" in use vs. all 27".

I can figure out some problems on my own, but after awhile, I get way in over my head.

I've been digging around and found that the code 43 error can be caused by a faulty video card in an SLI setup. You should be able to disable SLI via the NVIDIA control panel. The option should be under the 3D Settings tree.

To test each card individually you will need to pull one card out of your system so that you only have one video card installed. Then swap the cards out after running a few tests. If you are unfamiliar with doing this, I highly recommend that you contact someone that can do this for you.

In regards to the black border, you may need to adjust your scaling settings so that the image fills the whole screen. This can be done through the NVIDIA control panel as well. The option will be under the Display Tree, "Adjust desktop size and position."

Found out that 1 of my 2 video cards was hosed (yay still under warrenty with 7 more months to go!) Taking it out fixed all the problems and I can play EQ2 again...and the twitching and shakes have stopped!
