Accuracy improves your hit chance versus contested avoidance (Defense, Parry/Riposte, Contested Deflection, vs mob level check). This is useful for everyone.

Strikethrough improves your hit chance versus uncontested avoidance (Block, Minimum Deflection Chance, other uncontested avoidance). This is only useful for people standing in front of the mob (ie: Tanks), or versus brawler mobs.

I was told strikethrough would also allownot to take into consideration the mitigation of the target thus provoking huge melee damages. Is this correct ?

No, that is false.

It does was Xalmat said it does. Nothing more, nothing less.

My understanding of Strikethrough is it is a check done after the attacker has missed it's attack, for whatever reason(contested block/uncontested/riptoste/parry/etc.) 50% strikethrough therefore means that half the time when an attack would otherwise miss, it hits anyway.

Before SF's addition of Strikethrough Immunity for Brawlers in defensive stance, a monk could use Tsunami (20 seconds of 100% frontal riptoste against all melee attacks) and they would still be hit 50% of the time by a monster with 50% strikethrough.

Now for shields maybe they only work from the front but all contested avoidance and uncontested parry/reposite work from any direction reguardless of class.

It's more accurate to say that block is frontal arc for shield users and 360 degree for brawlers. Parry is 360 degree's, whereas ripostes only occur to frontal arc. If an item granting uncontested riposte tries to riposte and you're not facing the mob, it will turn into a parry instead.

Way to much inaccurate info on this page. The below is based on the post by Xelgad above.

"What are the Blue Stats I'll see on my items and what do they do?"Way to much inaccurate info here. Per Xelgad's post on the top of this forum.

Accuracy: Accuracy increases your chance to hit the target when you normally would have missed. It does not help you against parries, blocks or ripostes.

Strikethrough: Strikethrough grants a percentage based chance to ignore the target's riposte, parry or block.

"Can Uncontested Avoidance fail to avoid an attack?"

The blue stat "Strikethrough" is a percentage based chance to attack through any Parry, Block or Riposte.

Certain melee attacks cannot be avoided even if the avoidance is uncontested.

Parry comes in contested and uncontested forms. Dodge comes uncontested and contested forms. Strikethrough will go through uncontested parry, riposte or block. Accuracy will not go through uncontested dodge. So you should not be hit with 100% dodge abilites active. NPC's can have 360 parry but not all classes have parry. Particularly mages/priests do not parry naturally unless they have special buffs.
