Running through Solusek's Eye anywhere there is the glass flooring (especially bad at loc -182, -506, -163) my system is going on the verge of crashing.

I get this while running through the zone constantly. That white background is the EQ2 client:

I have not had any sort of crash problems in EQ2 for a long time, but the most recent game update seems to be causing a lot of problems for me.

Try doing a clean install of the NVIDIA graphics driver*. Best way to do this is by using the Custom install option rather than the Express. Custom will give you a click-able box to Perform a clean install.

*The option to perform a clean install is only available through their more recent driver versions.

I can confirm the Solusek's Eye issue. I have nVidia GTX260 and I started getting some weird graphics issues the sound started crackling. Then temperature on the GPU core went up +11C. Then driver error message. EQ2 did not crash, but Win7 popped the Driver has recovered message. Then my wife's computer did the same thing. She is running nVidia 8800GTS 512MB and her computer acted very similar to the way mine did. Screen started glitching and sound started crackling, then driver error and recovery message. This happened two more times to each of us while running on the glass bridges in Solusek's Eye.

Can you post the contents of your eq2_recent.ini file in this thread? This will give us an idea of what settings you are running the game at. The file can be found in your EverQuest II installation directory.

Try running the game at your current settings with hwmonitor running in the background. I'm curious to see what kind of temps you are getting while in that zone. I would also like you to try running the game on balanced to see if the crashing persists.

Next time my system crashes in there, I'll try and remember to get screenshots, although to be honest most of the time my computer almost always has a terminal hard reset type of failure when it does go down in there.

I also crash in the same spot and I have a gtx 275 and windows7x64. Clean install of driver doesn't solve this. When I do come back in game I have a few seconds to evac out before the graphics get distorted and crash. Its hard to test older drivers because of this.

Could you post your DXDIAG info?

Also, monitoring your temperatures once you are in-game would be most beneficial in diagnosing your issue. Could you find a utility to do this? Your video card manufacturer typically has utilities like this available for download.

I have nVidia 285GTX and i had same problems in this sublevel of Solusek's Eye in a room with "glass" bridges. Tried everything, changing settings, drivers, even fresh windows install... nothing helped.

But what i found irritating was flickering of textures (or fast turning on/off of some effects on them) in certain angles of camera at certain locations (like Solusek's Eye glass room, or some EL locations near water). Only solution to remove this texture flickering was to set Complex Shader Distance to -1.

So, setting Complex Shader Distance to -1 in Options (Advanced) / Performance section solved them for me.

It looks awful, but no driver resets so far

Edit:Recent research showed, that having Water Reflections turned on is enough to not experience these display drivers resets.

I had this problem also. I fixed it by setting complex shader distance to max, oddly enough. And, guys, seriously, have you ever seen a problem solved by posting a bunch of code or reinstalling a driver? Just play with game settings when something like this happens You know it was caused by some accident during an update. Code is complicated, and it will take them time to find it. And, company reps can't blame anything produced by their organization, so they will say driver, video cards, etc..something someone else makes. But, not to worry. SOE has THE best Devs in the business. They know there's an issue, and they'll get it sorted.

Just did run into those problems now with my 290GTX. Usual path update drivers, check temps etc (296.10 atm) no game.

Have Compex Shaders at 300 and Relfection on - still crashing.

Gonna see what else may help.

Funny enough it started on level 7 or 8. Was good till then even with glass floors.

Ok it's not level 7 and below. It's more to do with the date. Early this week I was spending hours in Solusek Eye. Today driver crash after few minutes.

Must be something with recent patch and other said on this thread.

Haven't found any fix yet.

However in Solusek Eye at /loc -23, -509, -357 looking trough those glass tunnels down into lava below seems to be triggering this more often then not.

I'll update myself to the newer ones and see if I can repro this.

Weird this. Maybe somethign specific to 28x series cards.

Then I did run it few times had no issues until last Thursday. Not easy to narro it down. Seems it takes coupe of minutes around the bottom of Soluskey Eye.

Not sure if that is related to those glass bridges or the bottom itself (where gnome expedition ship/drill is crashed). Or both togeather!

For what it's worth, the bottom of Solusek's has been crashing my main rig's video driver for over a year. (GTX275)

While we are on the topic of Solusek Eye, is it possible to petition to get rezzed at nearest elevator instead of the start when suiciding due to walking over the side into a free fall to lava, because the screen looks like a picasso remake of a bag of M&Ms and navigation is totally hopeless?

Having to rerun all the way to get To Speak like a Dragon just because there are some graphic snag in the zone at some of the doors is a pest.
