I've played the game with no issue for a week, but now I'm unable to go into certain zones because the game crashes almost immediately. I had no problem in Greater Faydark, Kelethin, Butcherblock Mts, Thundering Steppes or Enchanted Lands, but as soon as I enter Zek, Feerrott or Halas (these are just the ones I'm aware of right now), the game locks up. It doesn't crash and give an error message, rather it just freezes up. I can still move the cursor around, can open up task manager where it says EQ2 is not responding, but it won't end the program and I have to manually shut off the computer. If I'm lucky when the game loads and I'm quick I can hit my recall spell and get out of the zone, but it usually crashes before I can click off the welcome tab. I have no problems running other newer games or if I stay out of those certain zones. Here's some system info

XP SP3

Athlon 64 X2 4200+

1GB Ram

Asus Geforce 210

I've updated my drivers, directx etc. but nothing seems to work. I downloaded the game via the launcher, I'm wondering if the data for those zones is corrupted? Any help is appreciated, it would be a shame to miss out on such a great game because of some lousy technical issues.

See if you can lower your performance settings to see if it helps with zoning. You may want to consider using the EverQuest II Streaming client if you are not using it already. By default it does a scan of all game files at launch.

Thank you for your response - I'm using the streaming client, upon logging in today it's begun to download the whole game again... on the bright side those zones that were crashing on me are now functional. I've lowered my settings to extreme performance so hopefully I don't have any more problems.

If anything the streaming client seems to be the problem; when it fails to see that I've already downloaded the game, and it begins downloading it again, it works just fine. But when it loads it off the HDD it just crashes in these zones. It's also downloading the same 4.3MB patch almost every time it starts. I'll try deleting it and re-downloading the whole thing again, but I'm getting the feeling this game is plagued by technical issues. If anyone has any input to these problems it would be appreciated, I'm about at my wits end here and if this doesn't work soon I'll be cancelling my two subscriptions.

I've noticed the 4.3mb download on my end as well. I'll ask about it tomorrow when the whole team is around.
