B/C they don't try to keep up with the Jones. Thats why they made the UI modifiable so they don't have to add all the bells and whistles that 3rd party UI's do. As far as your issue I haven't ran into this. Mine has stayed where ever I put it.

edit: And looks like I was just lucky and never had this bug.

edit: And Rothgar fix the target casting data, it don't always fill the progress bar and sometimes don't show at all.!! :O

On the subject of windows not staying where they're supposed to... I have a hotbar that wont stay put even though it's locked. Of all my hotbars (7 total) there's only one that's giving me problems and it's the only one that I have the show spinner option enabled on. Everytime I log on, it's moved over either to left or right, it doesnt seem to be picky and gets partially hidden behind another hotbar or covers one or goes partially offscreen and it also moves when I switch from fullscreen to windowed mode, also... when I adjust it to have 2 rows of 6 buttons like my other hotbars it never stays that way, it always resets to 2 rows with 10 buttons on top and 2 on the bottom. I do not use any UI mods aside from EQ2 maps.

I'm having the exact same issue every time I log in as [shh! don't tell!]. I have EQ2 Maps & no other custom mods.

[Edited to remove the name!]

I'd love it if all windows of a type stayed put. Older player such as myself often have trouble with achey finger joints, and having to chase windows across the screen during repetitive actions like transmuting is (literally) a pain!

I can't think of a reason why the patcher would give that message. Make sure you reboot at least once and try running it as an administrator.

I keep the FPS window on the right side of my screen just under my minimap. I also have it on the 'smaller' version of the screen so only the numbers, not the graph, are visible. It moves about 1 to 2 inches towards the left from where I normally keep it.

You need to tweak a setting somewhere to disable protection.

I see from the path in your image that you've got EQ2 installed under Program Files and you're running Win7. That means that both the game files and things like the saved UI settings files are subject to that protection. It's possible that what's happening to you is that Win7 is preventing the patcher from changing the installed game files and preventing the game from rewriting the saved UI settings files. The usual solution recommended for this is, rather than mess around with Win7's security settings, move the game to somewhere other than Program Files (I put the game in "C:GamesSonyEverQuest II" myself). Then you won't run into the problem.

Yes, as a matter of fact "Are you running Windows 7?" is the third question in my normal troubleshooting script, right after "Is your computer turned on?" and "Is your monitor turned on?".

I put the connection window near the top right of my screen. I also don't play in full screen, but windowed, if that makes a difference. Every time I log back in, I'm having to move my window back to it's position because it always shifts a good deal left.

How do I get my keymaps to stop being overwritten with the new key binds on every login, having to press a /load_keymaps mykeys - type macro on every character is a bit annoying and it's a waste of a hotbar space (and some characters need that space) - plus not having to use it on going to BG's so I could get the icon back.
