Game patches but doesn't load the game

<p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #993300; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Ah can patch the game no problem, but when ah hit <span style="font-size: medium; color: #993300; font-family: Comic Sans MS;">the big red [PLAY] button the Processing Login/Launching Game window appears but nothing else</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #993300; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium; color: #993300; font-family: Comic Sans MS;">Ah really want to get in so mah main can level up in the HH or HM, but need to do some preparation first</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #993300; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Ah have EQ2 loaded on 2 different laptops, and decided to see if the 2nd one (newer with better stats and stuff) would work, before patching ah was able to get the game to load (wouldn't let me play as the versions were different) and after patching had the same problem: no longer loading the game (even though prior to patch it would)</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #993300; font-family: Comic Sans MS;">This time it is telling me what has gone wrong: "<strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">This application has failed to start because d3dx9_31.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.</span></strong>" So, umm, how did patching remove that file and how can ah get it back?</span></p>

It worked fine before ah patched and now the game won't load because it <em><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">claims</span></strong></em> a file that was there prior isn't there anymore, and the only thing that has changed has been the patch</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium; color: #993300; font-family: Comic Sans MS;">Please, ah want to get in before Halloween so ah can prepare V`Wak and mah 2 bugs so they can level in the HH, was hoping to do some crafting with one bug so they could finally have a surname and use the appearance slot but leveling while in the HH for V`Wak is more important</span></p>

<p>Hi all, Hope someone can point me in the right direction.</p><p>I tried to log into game yesterday and got the message"<span >Could not execute Everquest2.exe. The game may not be available at this time please check the website"</span></p><p>Tried repairing the game by using the TSO all in one disc set but still the same, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and repatching but today I am still getting the same error message.</p><p>I find it strange cos up until 2 days ago i had no troubles.</p><p>I noticed this posted and have updated my DX but when clicking play it either comes up with the error message or saays launching game then it dies.</p><p>Thanks in advance</p>
