I've installed the game using the new launcher. I let it preload all the assets and it works as supposed.

When I log into the game and then start a new instance using the same launcher, it will begin downloading all the assets again. Is this really necessary?

Apparently it fills up a folder called Assetcache in the same directory as my first instance.

I don't get it..

Using the standard station launcher, you're fine with just one installation. Install, Download, Launch client #1, Launch client #2, (Launch client #3) and you're good.

It's the streaming launcher that has the restriction that two clients cannot run from the same set of assets, and as a result it tries to pull down a second asset instance for the second client you launch.

Go with the standard non-streaming launcher (http://launcher.station.sony.com/) and you're all set. (You will probably have to uninstall/reinstall to switch launchers though.)

-Ken
