Frostfang Sea graphical bug.

<p>So I've got a bit of an issue with my game when I goto Frostfang Sea there's areas that are all black where there should be snow. I've tried different graphical settings and still nothing changes it even on extreme quality. What I end up getting is something that looks like this below. My machine specs are as follows AMD Athlon II 440, AMD 780GX chipset, 4GB DDR2 RAM, 2x ATI Radeon 4850 512MB (not in CrossfireX), Onboard sound, LAN, running Windows 7 Home Premium with all drivers up-to-date.</p><p><img src="http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t25/Marthaen/EQ2_000198.jpg" width="1024" height="576" /></p>

<p>Ooh I had that issue, I wound up deleting all the new halas files in the .pak folder. It repatched it then the black went away.</p>

<p>Thats missing mesh or textures, the above advice should fix that, as well a full file scan after deleting them would be good too.</p>

<p>I am having this exact same problem.  I have deleted all the halas .pak files, and did a complete file check many times. the black textures still there, updated my video drivers and still there.  I use the station launcher btw, and when I used the streaming launcher for extended I have no problems at all.  Any ideas on how to get rid of this problem on live.  It makes playing in frostfang sea undoable for me with all the black textures.</p>

<p>Let's try resetting your games settings to see if it helps.  You can do this by logging into the game and going into the Options menu and pressing the Default button.</p>

<p>Nope that did nothing either, same black textures everywhere, also happens in noth shaders.  My guess is a missing teture file that isn't associated with halas files, but used nowhere else....I don't have this problem anywheere but frostfang sea.</p>

<p>Have you tried Exmortis_MT's suggestion on running a full file scan?  If it is a missing/corrupted texture that should fix it.  Another option would be to use the <a href="http://launch.soe.com/eq2" target="_blank">EverQuest II Streaming Client</a>.</p>

<p>Exactly which files are for Frostfang Sea?   I have the same issue but can not locate which files to remove.  full file scan does nothing to correct the problem.</p>

<p>Sorry haven't posted back here in a while since I don't visit Frostfang very often. I've gone and deleted all the New Halus files multiple times and tried to reset my settings to default and still I have the issue with the black texture in Frostfang. I only have this issue with a Radeon card as a have a second computer with the exact same configuration as the one I normally use but it has an nVidia 260GTX.</p>

<p>I finally managed to fix my issue.  It took deleting the cache directory as well as the Hala .pak files multiple times.  And like you I have the issue on ATI Radeon video cards.    </p>
