Every time I try to patch using the Station Launcher, I am getting this error message:

There was a problem confirming the checksum for the file C:Program Files (x86)SonyEverQuest IIlp_temppaksdpo_exp04_objects.vpk_delta_9667_8.pa tched.

It doesn't seem to be getting past the scanning part at all. I'll provide any other info needed, if possible.

Same issue,

Downloaded the LU on my other computer and on My GF's comp no problem but on my main computer Station launcher hangs at 1:07 on the update, if I switch accounts it just hangs on "update" and If i completely reinstall the launcher its just a rinse/repeat of the previous problems....

And By "Hangs" I mean 25 mins straight with no activity so its not a heavy load issue.

I had to go into the EQ2 folder and start the game using the executable file there (thanks to one of my guild mates for the idea!). That started the old launcher and it patched fine. The station launcher works now that I've done that, as well.

I have the same checksum error, but with a different voicepack file. Not a happy camper, but with all the other problems with this update, I don't have much faith it'll get resolved any time soon.

Same issue, except I don't see any errors. Station just hang in a loop at "updating... 13%"

Update: If you get the Checksum or file size error (retrying in 5 seconds!) kill the update and run a full file scan from the game preferences menu. This resolved my issue.

I'll try this again, but this did not resolve my issue as of this morning when i tried a full scan

The game and the station launcher was working correctly before the update today. Next I will try to remove all optional content/voice and full scan again.

After the Station Launcher Scan's, an error message pops up saying,"

There was a problem confirming the size of the file c:ProgramFilesSonyOnlineEntertainmentInstalledGame sEverQuest2p_tempUIDefaulteq2ui_mainhud_tutorial.x ml

So I deleted the file, and upon running the launcher again, it replaced the file and had the same error. I can access the game by using the everquest2.exe in the game directory but it is buggy when I do.

Feed back...

Still have not resolved my station launcher issues. Secondly while I do like the new UI and game content, I am however anonyed that it still takes just as long as ever to travel across zones such Stonebrunt Highlands and the Sundered Frontier where you are forced, for lack of a better phrase, "take the senic route". Can someone there PLEASE program a direct route into those traveling stations and please bare us the fly by of Quel'ule when we want to go no where near it!

Thank you!

Yes I have done the same also, HELLO SOE??? ANYONE HOME??

I have downloaded new station launcher and tired everything I can think of, I am not some average noob computer user either, I am Certified A+ IT Technician COMP10007******581. We'd like some help here. As everyone on this forum, I have HAD a working station launcher BEFORE GU58, now we Dont! Any idiot can put 2 and 2 together and see it has to be an issue with GU58! FIX IT!

I'd like to submit a log but i'm afriad this is all you get, since as stated before, the program hangs at Updating... 13% and HAS to be killed by either (noob way) restarting your computer or killing the process from your task manager. Here is what log I did find and what it has in it... again its not much help...

tail if the last few lines in StationLauncher.exe.log;

2010-10-13 15:44:02 [3584] INFO platform::StationUpdater - Checking update from http://lp2.patch.station.sony.com/p...ionLauncher.soe into C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentStation Launcher

2010-10-13 15:44:02 [3584] INFO Bootstrapper - Starting application dll: Filename: C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentStation LaunchermainStationLauncher.dll; App Version: 1.1.9; Build version: 1.1.9.922079; Command line: --exeVersion=1.1.9

2010-10-13 15:53:52 [4568] INFO main - Bootstrapper version = 1.1.9.922079

2010-10-13 15:53:52 [4568] INFO main - Started with args = --game EQ2

2010-10-13 15:53:52 [4960] INFO platform::StationUpdater - Checking update from http://lp2.patch.station.sony.com/p...ionLauncher.soe into C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentStation Launcher

2010-10-13 15:53:52 [4960] INFO platform::StationUpdater - Checking update from http://lp2.patch.station.sony.com/p...ionLauncher.soe into C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentStation Launcher

2010-10-13 15:53:53 [4960] INFO Bootstrapper - Starting application dll: Filename: C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentStation LaunchermainStationLauncher.dll; App Version: 1.1.9; Build version: 1.1.9.922079; Command line: --game EQ2 --exeVersion=1.1.9

2010-10-13 15:54:27 [4960] INFO Bootstrapper - Returns 0 from application dll: C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentStation LaunchermainStationLauncher.dll

2010-10-13 15:54:27 [4960] INFO Bootstrapper - Exiting bootstrapper...

2010-10-13 15:54:30 [3276] INFO main - Bootstrapper version = 1.1.9.922079

2010-10-13 15:54:30 [3276] INFO main - Started with args = --game EQ2

2010-10-13 15:54:30 [2668] INFO platform::StationUpdater - Checking update from http://lp2.patch.station.sony.com/p...ionLauncher.soe into C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentStation Launcher

2010-10-13 15:54:42 [3480] INFO main - Bootstrapper version = 1.1.9.922079

2010-10-13 15:54:42 [3480] INFO main - Started with args = --game EQ2

2010-10-13 15:54:42 [3480] ERROR Bootstrapper - Other instances running - I will now exit.

2010-10-13 15:54:52 [2668] INFO platform::StationUpdater - Checking update from http://lp2.patch.station.sony.com/p...ionLauncher.soe into C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentStation Launcher

2010-10-13 15:54:52 [2668] INFO Bootstrapper - Starting application dll: Filename: C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentStation LaunchermainStationLauncher.dll; App Version: 1.1.9; Build version: 1.1.9.922079; Command line: --game EQ2 --exeVersion=1.1.9

I have tried everything, if I could figure out what the launcher is hanging on I could probably fix the issue, but I am at a loss cause there is no log to trace down the problem.

Here's my computer specs;

HP G61 LaptopAMD Dual Core M320 2.1GHz3.0GB MemATI Mobility Radeon HD 420064bit Windows 7

As I stated, stationlauncher.exe was working fine before GU58 came down the pipes, now its not!
Getting the same error about invalid checksum, but the FILE it's listing is: eq2ui_inventory_merchant.xml (lptemp folder in the installed game directory) and then it keeps saying "Update Failed" and that it will try again in 5 seconds.

[UPDATE] So... I come home to my desktop (Windows XP Pro) load the launcher, it updates NO PROBLEM. Thinking that the problem has been resolved I go to my laptop (Windows 7) and voila! Now it can't validate the checksum of the Mistmoore Veteran pak... (Since I don't want it, can I just skip it and play LOL)

So is this possibly some Windows7 thing? Like when we had to set the Launcher to run as Administrator?

I just spoke with tech support they suggested I try using portforward.com to get the open ports needed. But however this didnt work, however after cleaning out my folders (lp_temp) station does not hang anymore and actually splits out the error;

"There was a problem confirming the checksum for the file C:ProgramDataSonly Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest IIlp_tempUIDefaulteq2_intentory_merchant.xml. Station Launcher will try again in 5 seconds."

The launcher loops that every 10 seconds, scans for 5 seconds then spits the error out and tries again.

Tried a full scan again and still did not change anything.

!!SOLVED!!

For anyone watching this thread, I have manage to solve this issue and I would like to pass it along.

To fix the issue of the launcher not updating and hanging or looping on a checksum error, do the following;

1. STOP the Launcher first of all and close it. If its hung up, open task manager and click on the process and click end task. If if you dont know how to do that, just reboot your computer.

2. Next goto your EQ2 folder on your harddrive, Usually C:Program FilesSonyEverquest II or C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest II.

3. Goto the "lp_tempUIDefault" (ie: C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest IIlp_tempUIDeafualt) folder and find the file, "eq2ui_inventory_merchant.xml.gz" and click on it, you will need WinZip or WinRar to open this file as its just a compressed file.

4. Extract the file within and copy (and replace if any) "eq2ui_inventory_merchant.xml" to C:Program FilesSonyEverquest IIUIDefault (if your eq2 folder is there) or C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest IIUIDeafult

Re run the Launcher and it should no longer fail to update.

This worked for me since I was getting the error "c:ProgramFilesSonyOnlineEntertainmentInstalledGame sEverQuest2p_tempUIDefaulteq2ui_mainhud_tutorial.x ml" error.

I went into the EQ2 directory and launched just the game from the exe file and left it grab all the files that way. Make sure you use the eq2.exe file and not the Everquest2.exe. I left that run and update and then restarted and everything worked. Reset up my Eq2map updater and life is better.

Not sure if it will help but worth a try.

Well thats fine for anyone that still has the "eq2.exe" file in there directory, but if your like me, and have a newer copy of everquest, SoE no longer distrubes the file as its beening phased out. Running the "everquest2.exe" only launchs the game, and then you get kicked out once the game figures out your client is not updated.

The best way to fix the problem is as I described above, this will allow the Launcher to skip the file giving the checksum error and continue updating your game client.

If you go to the EverQuest II website and select the option to 'get the game' you can still download the older EQ2 Launcher App (NOT the Station Launcher, but just the one for EQ2) ... I did that this morning with the damaged installation and it updated just fine. I was going to try the extracting from archive option that was mentioned above, but the archive file that it kept telling me was a problem was nowhere to be found... but I got it going finally...

I am having the same problem. I have completely uninstalled the game, deleted the program directory and reinstalled.

Same error.

This problem will not go away when you re-install the game BECAUSE the basic function of any internet downloading program is to check the receiving side of the connection got the same size file as the side transmitting the data. If the file sizes dont match then the program spits out an error, this is called a checksum error.

The problem is for some reason the checksum size of that file is either wrong, or hasnt been update since the changes were made to the file. Not sure why only some people get this error and not others, but somewhere along the line the program is not getting the right information and it spitting back an error at you.

I have posted information on how to fix this issue, I suggest to anyone not comfortable with computers to have someone do this part that is savoy with them.
