Hello,

The /time command currently shows the Norrathian time and the time from my system clock. It should show the server time instead. If I type /time I want to know how much time I have until the server goes down, if I want to see my local time I can look at my watch.

Thanks,

Dorsan, necromancer of Nagafen

/time has acted this way since Everquest launched in 1999. There's no possible way this would ever happen.

Why not? It is a maximum of 10 lines of code to change... Or they can add a third line with the server time for all I care...

Or you could just figure out how many hours ahead/behind PST you are, then remember that number and add/subtract it from your time whenever you need to. It's not like that number changes unless you move time zones. Why make more work for the devs than necessary, especially to something that hasn't changed in a decade.

I'm boggled by the number of people who are either unwilling or unable to figure out this number for themselves. Requests for time left before downtime always clog the chat channels on update days. Get a map people!

If you can't figure it out in your head:

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclo.../converter.html

There's no reason SOE should change the way something like that works when it only affects people a very tiny percentage of the time.

A better thing would them to ensure they keep the network status page up to date constantly and ensure that someone doesn't forget to broadcast the message every so often (and more often the closer the time gets to server down) every time they know there is going to be downtime.

Honestly... When I feel like adding numbers I will play with my calculator. When I feel like playing a game and I get an information from it, I don't want to convert anything to anywhere. It is my fun time and converting times from one timezone to another is not fun. And yeah, I am changing timezones often.

Adding server time to the display would be pretty cool, IMO. But would you want server time or SOE time?

WoW had Server Time and it was very convienent. You could schedule raids and events by 8pm ST. And everyone would know when it was.

Its not always as simple as doing the conversion math. Some places do Daylights saving time, some don't. Some don't even know what Daylights Savings is.

Some people live in half timezones too which adds to the confusion.
