I haven't played EQII since it first came out but decided to come back and start fresh.

Rolled a Troub and have him up to level 42 with 72ish AAs. Forgive me if I have the names of these skills wrong since I am at work and most game sites are blocked but I have 50 points in the bard line. I have Don't kill the messnger and Fortissimo(sp) maxed.

I really am not sure where to go with these other points. I tried reading the facts but it didn't help too much since I see the dates on them is several years ago.

I want to be as group friendly as possible. Is there a certain path/set of skills that are a must? Any input you provide would be much appreciated... Thanks!

Well, you're in good shape at this point.

If memory serves, my AA spending went something like this:

Bard tree: 4-10-10-1 in agility for DKTM; 4-4-10 in STA for fortissimo; and then a point into Turnstrike and Rhythm Blade to open those abilities up; final points into Bump to unlock the Bump->Night Strike combination. This took me to about 50 AAs.

Then I went to Troub tree and picked up Sonic Interference and Resonance, spending about 40+ AAs here. How you spend your points in Resonance is up to you - it's been argued that the mana and hp regen songs are generally worthless in groups/raids as other classes can cover those areas much better than Troubs, but they do have some usefulness when soloing, so I'm not sure where you fit in here. Definitely max out Aria as that's our bread and butter, and the resist lines. Jester's as well when you can fit it in.

By that point I was around 100 AAs, so I hopped right over to the TSO tree and went right through the first 3 lines. Again, slight personal preference here, but you definitely want the HP boost in the General line, the defensive AA boost in the Scout tree, and Shriek / Flanking / Intox. Notes in the Bard tree.

From there you should be level 70+, if not 80+, at which point you want to continue filling out those Bard and Troub pages in preparation of the level 81+ AAs (general consensus is further along the AGI line in Bard for poison; and in Troub tree pick up Zander's, as well as maybe picking up Harmonization in Troub tree) . Get Rhythmic Overture / Victorious Concerto asap IMO, and then you'll be closing in on 170+ AAs at which point you can finish off the TSO tree.

Clear sailing after that.

*edit* for the 81+ SF AAs, I went Bump 4, Swift Voices 4, Precise Blades 8. The Troub tree SF AAs you probably want the Warding song as well as Resonating Concerto and Harbinger's.
