My friend and I have been playing semi-casually for the last 4 years in EQ2, and it wasn't until the last two expansions where I've felt it was harder and harder to get groups to do dungeons. I'm on the Antonia Bayle server but we play at offpeak times (both live in Australia). At the times we play we often advertise for dungeon groups and generally get no tells back. Over the last few months it has been even more frustrating to the point we don't even log in anymore.

I know some developers are scared that creating cross server dungeon queues would desocialise the game, but I think guild halls desocialise the game even more yet they were implemented. The benefits of having this system implented is far beyond the risks you are concerned about.

1) It would encourage myself and my friend to log on every night

2) It would encourage our alts to play in lower level dungeons without having to advertise for greater than 1-2 hours at a time

3) It would encourage players who have the gear and experience but not know the right people to try the harder dungeons available and get the quests completed that for us are near impossible in the current state of the game.

Basically right now the content is stale, and we have no way to advance our character. Please reconsider your decision on this gameplay system and implement as a priority!

Already a thread on this very subject.

Look HERE.

I did search for a subject for this already, but as the topics that were previously created were vague I couldn't find them.

Regardless my point is still valid and it needs to be addressed.

I think cross server dungeon queues would breathe new life into this game. Right now it's pulling teeth painful to try to get a group or organise one at any level.

I have often found myself levelling a lower level character and would love to do some of the lower dungeons, but after trying for hours to form one my enthusiasm runs dry and i give up, tired of doing the same old quest grind to max level.

The argument that it reduces the social aspect of the game is invalid in my opinion, what could be more social than to group with and have adventures new people, forming friendships along the way!

I have found that if you arent in one of the big guilds it is really hard to get a group as they generally stick together, give the casuals a chance to form groups without having to wait hours, you will have a happier player base i assure you.

I am puzzeled on how you are not getting any groups to be honest. Even on off peak hours I find no problems getting into a group with my main or my alts. AB is usually a pretty busy server most hours.. yes there is a drop off on off peak times but not so bad as on other servers that are reporting a ghost town.

let me add some of problems i faced when i was in group.

i got several quests in process that need groups for specific zones. i saw a player used /chat and /lfg for that zone which i have and need it done.

not just bad pick up group, but i got in wrong group types, they only interested in looting for Marks, i got few quest that need "tag" a creature, and i need 3 to tag a specific mob, but they used "Rush-Pull" and kill everything in radius of nuker's AoEs in seconds, and not giving me chance to get quest updated.

big guilds? that is a joke, they are mostly on for raids and when done, they logged, and those who stayed and got group planned and they are full and left out 1 or 2 players needing them done, and they cant help or run same zones due to zone timers for access and resets only limited times. dont count on them too often and they are sick of stale zones from Kunark's heroic zones and TSO's tough high-end group zones, they wont do those again, now they do The Hole or Vasty Deep, and not often for Vig zones which is the most difficult zones, many PuG just broke up right in first room after they zone in.

that pretty sad...

no helps yet, this make some players give up on eq2 or worst of all, they can spread the words at works, at schools, or local communities saying eq2 are not friendly or sux at getting a group.

many reason most cant get in group, maybe they are undergeared, or new players who got characters on fast level trends and no clue because those older zones are basic straight hit and run tactic, but Vigilant zones requires skills and specific tactics used and that cause more frustrations and more stress.

Guild Wars has more success with Heroes and henchmens if they dont get a group, Heroes are different kinds of "bots" and they are like your own "Upgraded" fighting bots than henchmen with limited AI and fixed skills, with heroes you can customized with skills you earned from specific mobs and can exchange any skills for different kinds of challenging zones with different mobs.

Eq1 got mercenaries, but i never played it, just heard about it on /chats and i thought it would be cool.

several months ago, i posted my ideas to devs, and other players flamed me for trying to make eq2 dumb-downing or making the "exploits", they dont understand the pains of not getting right types of groups.

i made the proposal, make the instanced zones "no-respawn", with zone timer and limited reset if used mercenaries, once you get in zone and you have options to hire designed merceneries you can select while in the zone and cost your game golds and you can discharge them when not needed or zone out, they go away.

it would prevent zone farmings or mob exploits.

i dont have lot of cash or able to play 6 PCs and try botting, that too many accounts for me.

i dont need mercenaries if i do solo quests.

if i need mercenaries i would be start saving my golds and do lot of solo stuffs until i am ready for hirings unless if i see or found decent group who or what they need and get many quest updated and done quickly, if not, then get mercenaries if that was only other options.

Again I still get groups like I have said previously, all hours on AB.
