I have looked on the forums and tried pretty much everything I have found and I still recieve the following error.

An error occured trying to access EverQuest II Streaming.Error Code: 1012

I have reloaded the launcher and triple checked my settings. Other online games with patchers/launchers I play are working fine so its not my connection. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Randal

I am having the same error. What is the point of these forums if no one is going to help. I sincerely regret ever associating with this game, as cool as it may be, due to the complete neglect of the company that owns it. The trouble i have had just trying to play this game has surpassed anything i have ever experienced. If we don't receive help you can definately count on me to never associate with your company again and do everything i can to tell others that they shouldnt either.

Are you currently using the streaming client or the station launcher? Where do you have the game currently installed?

I too am having this problem.

I am using the streaming client. I was able to play last night with no issues, but tonight I am getting the 1012 error. I have tried to run it as admin, and without.

Try setting the EverQuest II directory's attribute so that it is not set to Read-only and let us know your results.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried setting the attribute to read only, no change. Still getting Error Code 1012 from the streaming launcher.

I apologize for the confusion the Read-only attribute should be unchecked.

I've now set the folder and everything in it so that read only is off, still the same problem.

What version of Windows are you using and do you happen to have the game installed in Program Files?

I am also having this same problem - Error Code 1012. It has started today (Friday 19 November at about 7:30 pm UK time).

I am running the streaming client. I have two copies of the game on my pc. Directories are:-

C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest II

and

C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest II two

I have set the attributes for the folders and their sub folders so that Read Only is not checked. The first folder was the default location when I installed the game.

I am running Windows 7.

I had the error twice on the first copy of the game but was successful on the third attempt. I cannot log in at all with the second copy - keep getting the Error Code 1012 when the big green button changes to "Update"

I play on Runnyeye.

Thanks in advance

Aeriel

I found that by running both copies of the game as an administrator I can now log in without the problem. I have left the folder attributes with read-only unchecked so I cannot say if this contributed to the solution or not.

Aeriel

I ended up reinstalling it from scratch and now it works (so far), I have the read only unchecked, and am running as an admin too, so those may help. But they didn't before I reinstalled, so I don't really know.
