I posted a similar topic and did not recieve any replies =.

I'm on crushbone, and doing certain things such as zoning into stonebrunt crashes me to character select and then I can no longer log that character in. It gets stuck at connecting to zone info. I can log in other characters however.

I'm on Runnyeye having the same problem, getting progressively wosr for 3 weeks now. I know it's not my router, firewall or installation as I've:

1. Connected with my router disabled - same problem

2. Re-installed EQ2 - same problem

3. Rebuilt my computer (re-installed Windows 7, then EQ2, nothing else) - same problem.

4. Cleared all "cache" files - same problem

If I can get one character connected, then I can connect any other character that camped in the same zone. I know that I can't load Sundered Frontier at all, nor Butcherblock Mountains. Guild Hall, Antonica, Commonlands, Lavastorm, Everfrost seem to be fine (for the most part, though I have intermittent problems still.)

I can however connect and zone all my characters fine from a friends machine.

I had contact with SOE everyday for a week trying different things and sending error files to them. Then I got radio silence from them for the last week. My ticket says "We are working on your issue" but no communication at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Still having the problem...

Installed EQ2 on a brand new Windows 7 machine, same issue still.

Can get to Char Select on all my machines, but won't go past the connecting or loading screen and BAM back to Char Select.

Looks to be internal to SOE networks from my end.

Hoping someone looks at this soon...

I've still not had an answer from SOE, but on Friday I had a small update come down, and I can now log in and zone properly. Still wish I knew what happened to cause this, but I am able to connect properly so I'm happy.

Well I am not happy. I am still having the same problems for over 2 weeks now. I live in the same area as the original poster. ( only know by looking at their tracert )

I also have 2 other guildies who live within 5 miles of me and we are all have the same issues.

Would be nice to get a reply from SoE on this issue..

Yes, I agree. It would be nice to have some kind of answer, because even though it is working now, I am nervous about future updates breaking it again.

Having the same problem as the original post too, on Crushbone. Out of our entire raid force, the 3 of us that live in the same area, using the same ISP, are the only ones who are having this issue.

This is also week 2 of my having this issue.

I've even reinstalled EQ2, hoping that could do something. Newp!

Oddly enough, if I stop using my cable and switch to stealing my neighbor's wireless, I can get in.

Our cable company says it's Sony's fault, and I imagine Sony would say its my ISP.

Soooo.. what now?

This is enough to make me stop playing after 6 years.

So if we are all experiencing the exact same issue as they was a few years ago it would seem Comcast recently made a change to which nodes we hit going to the Sony servers. I hope we can get a red post to assist us because I have tried contacting them directly and they blame Sony.

I am in southeast and having the exact same issues. Seems I have no troubles getting on during the off hours of the day for east coast. I play on crushbone. This is seriously frustrating. I am going to see if I have the same issues tomorrow.. with the not being able to log in etc. Then I will run the tracert and pingpath when the issues are going on.

Myself and two others are also in East Tennessee with all 3 of us on Comcast ISP

Originally I posted my problems under Login Server Not Responding. I'm having same issues with logging in. Thought I'd post here also because I see that some folks are saying they're in East Tennessee with this problem. I am as well. I'm having the same issue of being able to login in during "off-peak" hours without a problem but having serious lag and then cannot login during peak evening hours. Uber frustrating. Cancelled my account for now, since, what's the point if I can't play when I have time to play. Not sure what the solution is. Maybe the server merge will take care of the problem. /shrug

Actually thinking of doing it not for this everquest connection problem so much. Since internet is solid on EVERYTHING but everquest. But because of speed and pricing options.

Course I don't know. maybe it will give me a new "route" to everquest that the cool kids have so that I can log in when I want also.

I am working with a senior technician on this issue for the past week or so...

Could you all please post a pathping to your server during a time that you are experiencing this problem?

And during the time you are having the problem with your server, can anyone connect to a different server with no issue? If so please post a pathping to that server as well...

Please make sure to note which is your home server and if you do post the pathping to a different server that it is NOT your play server... For isntance I can't log into to Befallen but can log into Kith during prime time hours...

To pathping you goto a command promt and do this:

pathping befallen.everquest2.com

pathping najena.everquest2.com

Where befallen and najena are, you would put the name of your server... then cut and past the info here...

Hopefully they can get this fixed... the more info we supply that they are asking for the better...

wouldn't let me trace ping, said over 30 hops blah blah, but i did try to move around on oasis and i could log toons into lavastorm, sinking sands, and frostfang sea without issue. got booted to char select when i tried to go to timorous deep, south qeynos, and bb mtns.

I have this problem on Unrest. Randomly I will get dumped back to character select. Other characters can enter the world but the character I was using when I got dumped seems to take awhile before I can connect again. Using Comcast and my router is 192.168.2.1 Here is the tracert and pathping information:

Tracing route to sdkeq2-05-01.everquest2.com [199.108.12.161]over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.2.1 2 * * * Request timed out. 3 8 ms 10 ms 9 ms 68.86.113.1 4 11 ms 14 ms 13 ms be-50-ar01.burien.wa.seattle.comcast.net [68.86.96.213] 5 10 ms 11 ms 10 ms be-0-0-ar03.burien.wa.seattle.comcast.net [68.86.177.130] 6 17 ms 17 ms 15 ms pos-0-2-0-0-cr01.portland.or.ibone.comcast.net [68.86.93.117] 7 16 ms 16 ms 18 ms pos-1-6-0-0-cr01.seattle.wa.ibone.comcast.net [68.86.85.105] 8 14 ms 19 ms 15 ms te-3-3.car1.Seattle1.Level3.net [4.79.104.109] 9 16 ms 14 ms 17 ms ae-31-51.ebr1.Seattle1.Level3.net [4.68.105.30] 10 43 ms 35 ms 35 ms ae-7-7.ebr3.SanJose1.Level3.net [4.69.132.49] 11 41 ms 50 ms 52 ms ae-2-2.ebr3.LosAngeles1.Level3.net [4.69.132.10] 12 42 ms 54 ms 52 ms ae-91-98.ebr1.LosAngeles1.Level3.net [4.69.146.26] 13 44 ms 44 ms 42 ms ae-5-5.car1.SanDiego1.Level3.net [4.69.133.205] 14 42 ms 43 ms 44 ms ge-7-2.hsa1.SanDiego1.Level3.net [4.69.142.154] 15 42 ms 43 ms 55 ms vl861.sdtermswitch-1.sonyonline.net [63.215.251.130] 16 44 ms 48 ms 52 ms vl831.sdkollsw-1.sonyonline.net [64.37.144.82] 17 60 ms 43 ms 43 ms sdkeq2-05-01.everquest2.com [199.108.12.161]Trace complete.Tracing route to sdkeq2-05-01.everquest2.com [199.108.12.161]over a maximum of 30 hops: 0 Jeff-PC.hsd1.wa.comcast.net.
According to the SOE tech I am working with, everyone having this issue should contact your Internet Provider and have them put in a ticket with Level3 Networks.

My problem is at a Level3 node in Washington where I begin to have 100% packetloss... I would assume that other people connecting to East Coast servers might be having a similar problem with Level3.

You will want a pathping to your play server to show where the problem is.

My father also has this same issue, and has also performed the pathpings. Facts of his issue:

1. Uses comcast, east Tennessee area (Rockwood,TN)

2. Issue appears in the evening consistently around 5pm and does not clear up until 10pm eastern

3. While the issue is experienced, the pathping he performs shows the same timeouts others have provided where essentially level3 is timing out.

It would be great to get a reply from sony on this thread to help these folks out. This has been going on for almost a month now and is really starting to push him away from wanting to continue to play this game.

I been out of town and my ticket was closed this morning by sony support. I got back last night . I hadn't gone thru all my emails. I was able to log in during normal hours. It was a little laggy. But I only got kicked once while zoning. But was playable.

I am not very optimistic about getting my provider to do anything. You call them they sound like they are from india w/ a serious case of computer robot talk. like they try and use a voice disquiser.

We are in the process of tracking down any possible issues with players going through level3.net.

still an issue for me on oasis, recently gotten worse, havent been able to log on for ~30 hrs. some other servers work fine

I too have been having this exact same problem in East TN on the Mistmoore server for going on two months now. I haven't been able to raid at all as my raid times are around the 7pm to 11pm area. I've all but given up hope. I posted my ping info in a previous post and was told that it was just my crappy connection however I'm apparently not alone. I also use Comcast... I wish this problem would get fixed!

for me the problem is evidently comcast, so wish me luck on fixing it thru them..... but when i asked soe support if they would be willing to fix the issue by xfering my toons to an unaffected server the answer was no... i had hoped for more from a company i've dropped a couple grand with over the years.
