This is going to take a little effort to explain, so I hope someone will stick with me. My character, a lvl 60 dwarf paladin, has 3477 hit points, 1737 points in power, int of 12, and wisdom of 29 when standing naked. When I equip the following piece of equipment, my stats change to : 3607 hit points, 1837 points in power, int 12, wis 29. Fulginate Vanguard Barbute +17 str +17 sta +17agi +40 health +40 power +22 vs Elemental +22 vs Noxious +22 vs Arcane Migitation 202 Level 40 But when I equip the following piece of equipment, my stats change to : 3663 hit points, 1798 points in power, int 36, wis 53. Adamantine Plate Barbute +24 sta +24 wis +24 int +60 health +60 power +97 vs Elemental +97 vs noxious +97 vs Arcane Migitation 291 Level 60 Why am I losing power when I equip the Adamantine Plate Barbute? Unless my understanding of how most rpgs work, this game has a serious flaw. EDIT: I have tried this with several other pieces of armor from both the fulginate line and the adamantine line. The stats stay the same as stated above, respectively.

I beleive it is because of the loss in STR -- as a fighter, your primary stat for power is now Strength. The Fulginate has 17 STR, the Adamantine has none. I'd guess you're not near your level cap on STR, so the gains from 17 STR exceeds 20 power (the difference between the two pieces of gear -- Fulginate has 40 power, Adamantine has 60), so when you equip the Adamantine you lose power.

There are a number of series of MC plate armor.. the second piece you linked is for plate healers, not plate tanks. See if you can find the Adamantine Vanguard Barbute

Mouse over your str stat, grants fighter type classes power.
