Competition is heating up for fast moving items. With the 10% Veteran's Display case, users of Potion Cabinets, Jewelry Boxes, and Pantries (etc.) just can't compete. These items are effectively useless.

So how about rewarding those of us that do take the huge amount of time and effort to craft and supply the rest of Norrath with food, ammunition, totems, armor, weapons, jewelry... ???

Making the Tradeskill sales containers (Not the Sales Crates!!) 10% would be one solution. But I honestly don't see this happening, just on a history basis, so...

How about a tradeskill quest, along the lines of the tradeskill writs, that rewarded us with a 10% box of our own? Or possibly an item to change one of the tradeskill boxes into a 10% box. These would remain craft-specific like the current boxes. Only crafted items could be sold. You finish the quest, choose the box, and you're stuck with it. No second chances, no multiple boxes per character.

So whaddya think? Devs?? Please???

Buy or make pantries, cabinets, sales crates, etc. Make sure you set them in your house. Make sure your price for the item is an actual purchase price, not just a couple gold/silver/plat less than the guy ahead of you. A lot of times, because one person puts something up for a ridiculous price on the broker doesn't mean its actually worth that amount and you'll see many people try to undercut one another in a comically minor fashion thinking they're selling the next big thing, when really its not worth half of what its been put up at originally.

Its all in your pricing with the crafted items. I never price anything for more than I would be willing to pay for it if I couldn't make it, no matter what they are going for from other sellers. I'm sure I could get more for some of the items, but really some prices people put items up for are simply ridiculous.

I'm not talking about the 'rediculous priced' stuff. I'm talking food and ammo. I have the veteran box, too, but 40 slots isn't enough to sell several tiers of food and/or ammunition and still be competitive. Some people are putting up food by the thousands, ammo by the tens of thousands.

And not just on the competitive thing, it would be a great way to reward serious high end crafters.

Considering that everyone can bypass every broker fee by simply going to the seller's house, it's kinda moot.

Whenever I decide to actually to make crafted products for sale, which generally are arrows, I pretty much never put them in my vet display case, just due to the fact that I need the volume of the specialty racks for ammo vs the discount from the vet display case.

To me, it's not worth worrying about those people selling ammo out of their veteran's display case, because in the end, it's the quantity you have available that brings the profits, and I'd much rather save my veteran's display case spots for items that I know I can sell for a significant amount instead of items where I have to produce and sell a high volume.

While I think this is a fairly moot point anyway at this stage in the game, I think the idea of a tradeskill reward is a neat idea. Why not make it a Triumph Achievement of some kind?

A single sales cabinet that only holds crafted materials. It could be used by all the tradeskill classes and since it would be a tradeskill triumph achievement they would be designated as a crafter of some note. Make the reduction useful, give crafters a bit of an edge by virtue of them earning this item to sell only crafted wares.

Just dont make the achievement something chump, make it noteworthy.

Another veteran's display would be a nice reward. Perhaps with the seven year rewards they should include a veteran's large display case with 60 slots.

Because the veterans display case was a vet reward for loyalty and time to the game, I have to disagree with the origional OP. However, the post above me is a good idea. I have a veterans display and I also use craft specific displays as well as salesmans crates. I sell stuff out of all the boxes! So having the veterans display to me is just a way to give my customers a 10% break it does not boost my sales over and above the toons I have selling out of the other boxes. but I would ask if we have this HUGE castle to live in after 7 years of eq2 (thanks BTW, It's AWSOME!) then we should also have a HUGE vet display to go in it how about more like 80 items or even 100, above and beyond what we could craft in game cause we have gone above and beyond to earn 7 years of loyalty to eq2.

just my 2 copper

Toodles,

Avi

P.S. Even a achievement reward for completing all the tradeskill quests would be a great idea, you have earned the achievement "Crafting Guru" You have been awarded a new title "Crafting Guru" You have recieved the Legandary "Crate of the Crafting Guru"

Hmmm.. a really cool set of faction recipes would be broker fee reduction sales containers (with more reduction on the craft class ones *grin*).

Though I disagree with the reasoning in the OP's message, I do think the idea of a "Discount Sales Case" has merit, perhaps along the lines of some of the tinkered items, which take more than one rare and/or a special faction recipe.

However, with the apparent shortage of devs/programmers available at SOE for new ideas, I don't expect to see this anytime soon.

Why don't we just give everyone a discount sales crate, that would make the Vet reward worth Nothing.

It is a vet reward for a reason, you played long enough to Earn it.

There is no need for any crafted discount sales crates, as someone pointed out, you don't want to pay the broker fee, you go to the house.

If you are a seller and don't like someone undercutting you, then buy all their production or sell for less then they do with or without the discount.

First off let me stat that I have been here since the beginning and will be getting my 7yr VERY soon.

Now that out of the way, I do not see a "Crafted Contents Only" 10% sales crate in anyway making my old Vet reward obsolete or inferior. The Vet Crate you can put ANYTHING in and its great for those rare drops, Masters, Rares and what not and the limit of 40 items makes it perfect for that. Now I currently have a Crafter of Every type and mainly use them to dominate the market of Low Level Mastercrated stuff such as Armors and Jewelry. I use the 80 slot specialty displays for this and in the case of the Jewelry (I cover T2-T5) I often run out of space even w/ all my 80-slot Jewelry Boxes and thee 40-slot Vet reward.

I am ALL FOR some way of getting say an 80-slot "Crafted Contents Only" display case w/ a 10% reduced fee.

As long as you can only put Crafted Items into it...there is no reason for anyone to complain about it making the 40-slot Veteran Case obsolete or "Not Special" as some put it.

Use that for all the high plat Non-Crafted stuff as everyone else already does.

Like another reply stated....make it an acheivment reward for doing all the Tradeskill Achievments (except the insane craft 750,000 items, that one is just rediculous

Actually the "vet" rewards are silly to me as people continually feel they have earned something and deserve them.

This is akin to calling the phone company, cable, landlord, electricity, and anyone else you pay for a service or entertainment and saying "I paid my bill and I want a reward, I EARNED it". The notion is silly. Companies will from time to time give you an incentive for your continued patronage, but it doesnt mean you did anything to EARN it beyond paying your bill and continuing to patronize the company with your money.

I am finding it amusing so many against RMT are hailing the earning of vet rewards; Its quite ironic.

If you want to earn them, tie them to achievements whereby you have to achieve something in-game to unlock them, not just pay your bill and if paying your bill for X months is all it takes to be a vet then allow people to buy their way in regardless of the time expenditure. The whole thing is laughable at this point.

SOE has got to realize they are, at some point, going to drive wedges between their players by making more useful items as longer term vet rewards. Why? Because there is no catch up program. Telling a new player today to wait 5 years to get their CoV or 6 years to get the new shiny house when so many people are questioning how much longer the game has to it is a lost opportunity for sales. You discourage people at onset making them think they will never be able to catch up and you give them a reason to look elsewhere.

I would rather see all these supposed new people coming to the game given the chance to pay the same as we all have to catch up. Let them infuse the company with their cash and enhance their gameplay or at least their perception of it with some shiny baubles and increase the dev resources for content creation for everyone on the whole.

My 2 cents worth anyway.
