Mercuratrayin

Having been away for a while, I recently updated my files and logged into the game again to deal with some character maintenance.

However, after patching I can log into the select character screen, and load a character all the way through to the point where the chracter is being added to the world and then Eq2 Crashes and quits to Windows 7 desktop.

Any suggestions?

Update or switch off any custom UIs you were using. They've made a lot of changes here lately.

I am also having this issue Mercuratrayin.. but only as of today 10/9/10. Before this i had terrible patcher freezing issues.. Now the Patcher is working 90+% of the time (the last couple days).. but today i noticed after i select a toon to enter the game with, the program will freeze. The freeze happens when my toon is being put into the world, so it seems.. I noticed when i logged in through the patcher i had "no download info to download", it went strait to "Play" icon. After i get to character select screen, and select "Play". I see the streaming download icon (lil'dragon) pop up in the lower right corner.. it starts to download something, then it will stop downloading at a random spot. At this point, EQ2 has froze, and i can not reduce the eq2 window, so i can shut it down via cntl+alt+del. So i wait it out, 5,10,15 minutes later = no change.. so i have to pull the plug on my system.. /sigh. I go through a Scandisk error check upon start up everytime.. This has happened 4 times, and im afraid to do it again.. i really hate shutting my PC down like that. I have done most of everything i know, to try and remedy this issue.. 1.) did a full file scan (of eq2x from patcher) 2.) disabled all anti-virus 3.) disabled firewalls 4.) defrag my hard drive 5.) checked for windows updates (up to par atm) 6.) drank a half pot of coffee. 7.) hissed at the cat... 8.) checked eq2 support forums. 9.) posted on eq2 support forums. 10.) Waiting to exhale..
