hey there

Recently i've been enjoying the PVP side of EQ2 more and more and started to consider rolling on naggy to really give PVP a go and enjoy world PVP. But seeing how old and well populated the server is, would it even be possible nowadays starting from the bottom with no cash? I can see myself leveling and getting repeatidly killed by people with a full set of experts/masters and in full MC gear while i'll be running with apps/adepts and treasured trash. Are there systems in place to help players get their foot in the door?

Thanks in advance

We've all been there at some point. Get through the hell levels, harvest a bit, maybe make a crafter, find friends, do anything and everything you would do to get situated on a PVE server. The only thing that is different is you'll need to bank bank bank and watch your back in the wild.

It will be a tough go especially if you don't like to die...

you can take two approaches...level up as fast as you can to 80/90 then work on getting AA and gear for PVP OR take your time in the various Tiers to max out your CA's/AA and Gear. ...the second option will help you learn how to play your toon and prepare you for higher level action.

As long as you don't mind getting killed alot its pretty easy to get PvP tokens OR BG tokens and obtain PvP gear for very little money. If you can, get yourself into a guild to help with Expert spells and use the research assistant to obtain masters. You really don't need that much plat to be competitive if you are patient.

Its also easy to find zones and instances with no pvp if you want to focus on grinding XP or AA.

If you like to quest in low level zones like DLW then prepare to get ganked often....just dust yourself off and move to another area that has less pvp.

It is definitely possible. I started my Nagafen toons just a few months ago after trying out the "pvp" in Battlegrounds. I really enjoy it. In fact, for a good long time I nearly completely ignored my PVE toons until just recently starting to do both again. I'm not sure what server you are on now but Nagafen has a very healthy population with active brokers (seemingly at pretty much all tiers although my experience is from T4 down since we locked at 35.) I've had good luck crafting. Selling rare harvests is certainly viable as well. I'm not claiming to be the besterest pvper ever! But, it's not hard to at least make yourself competitive with some effort at gear and AAs.

If you stay low level, you'll want to get at least the 3 piece jewelery set bonus from the vintage pvp merchant asap. Gives a regenerating ward. If you don't have it at low levels and your opponent does, it's nearly impossible to win.

With welfare tokens its easier than ever to start on Nagafen - just start hanging out in ant/cl during active warfield periods and run the quest lines in the interior (middle of the map). You will get 5 free tokens and almost no one will attack you in the middle because most of the action is centered around the towers. Welcome aboard Q, FP, or X faction - where ever you call home.

just leech. gear out really fast. i recommend making a freep side toon and wade into that sea of grays.
