I've searched and was unable to find any info anywhere posted by a DEV explaining how match making works in BGs. I would really like a technical explanation of how this system works. This may help explain some of the issues players are seeing and maybe improve the understanding of us the players of what is going on. This could also help the feedback so the DEV may have a better understanding of what the players are seeing.

Don't think knowing would help, fixing is the only thing that will help here.. It needs to sort people based on something other than randomness or class. How about trying to match up the toughness on both teams? or the gear.. maybe put ratings on pieces of gear so that it can balance the total gear rating from one team and the other. Or giving buffs to the team who is losing badly in a dynamic manner.. The game is so gear based right now something has to be done to sort it.

It does not need to be so detailed as to match toughness or gear. I just get tired of 5 DPS against 2 healers a tank and dps particularly when they all have challenger on.

Now, I would like to put together a regular pre-made myself but pre-mades are where the real disparity happens. Maybe there should be a premade, no premade or Anything option when queing.

I think it needs some form of a running handicapping system .. depending on classes in teams ... and the number of current players. By running i mean, as members are added, the handicap should change. Right now, it's about 70 luck and 30 talent

MatchMaker is terribly misleading. Can't they just be truthful and call it BattleGrounds Radomizer? I say that thinking I have better luck with /rand 100 than I do with 'MatchMaker'

Random is fine.

You don't get any more fair than completely random. True, you'll get screwed on some matches, but law of averages fixes that.. you'll get your turn in the barrel, and you'll get your turn kicking it too.

Start tampering with it too much, and someone's gonna get hosed.. all the time. Some class or gear combination will get the shaft, or people will figure it out and start manipulating it before heading in.

Random chance is the most fair thing possible, even if you don't like some of your match ups.

THE fix is simple: a BG "hub" zone that allows people to form pre-made groups from across servers.

Currently, groups can only be formed by players on a common server; this severely penalizes players on low-population servers in their ability to form "pre-made" BG groups. By allowing players to group up across servers before entering into maches would ensure that those matches would be far more balanced.

Actually a hub build sounds doable AND efficient.

Gears: Slots available

Tank=Filled

Healer=Filled

DPS=Filled

Utility=Filled

Melee DPS=Open

Mage DPS=Open

I would be nice to see and choose the groups building. Not the names of the toons in the slots just the classes and slots BEFORE you decide to join.

you guys won't stop crying about this until they break it. it's deja vu.

The problem is people will queue up for all and deny the one map they dont want, sadly SoE assumes everyone clicks yes when they message pops up.

There's no reason not to allow players to set up their own matches like you can in the arena, and well... pretty much any online pvp game.

Who cares. The benefits far out-weigh a few no-talent scrubs fighting themselves for free tokens that are easy to get anyway.
