a snippet from test patch notes

You can now click the detriment icons in the player window, group window or raid window to attempt to cure those conditions.

New command /cureplayer [playername|group or raid position][trauma|arcane|noxious|elemental|curse] optional [spell|potion]

Example: /cureplayer g0 noxious spell

Will attempt to cure yourself of a noxious detriment with only spells and without using potions (even if you have them).

Example: /cureplayer r4 noxious

Will attempt to cure the character in raid slot 4 of a noxious detriment using a spell or potion (whichever is available).

When using potions, the highest level tradeskilled potion in your inventory will be used first. This works with all tradeskilled potions.

Only the spells “cure”, “cure arcane” and “cure curse” are used by this.

so in english that means click to cure on the default UI?

Yes, with almost the functionality the custom UI's have.

It actually looks lilke it's even better since it will do either spell or potion, whichever is available.

Any raid UI has done spells or potions for a long time now, just fyi.

BTW, the notes are confusing. /cureplayer r4 noxious will cure them with spell or potion.... I can use potions on others? I assume that only uses a postion if r4 slot == me

As brought up on paladin forums but I think it deserves a mention here:

If Cure Arcane is included (mage ability) surely Cure Spells a paladin ability is also worth including; it woudl be extremely handy to macro this to use a potion if Cure Spells is down.

Yes they are talking about it being part of the default UI, Yes it will only use a potion if the target == self. Sorry Boli I don't have a pally on test to test the cure spell. so that I don't know.

Glad to see it happening.

The only additional feature the add-on UI's provide that I find useful is the ability to turn that 'click' into a basic macro.

For example, I like when I click to cure curse that I add a /tell %t Curing your curse

It may be over-complicated to be able to customize the macro that is run when the click is made, but it would be a real 'nice to have' thing.
With this going in, will Cure Curse finally not eat your recast timer if it doesn't actually cure anything?

Sydares wrote:

With this going in, will Cure Curse finally not eat your recast timer if it doesn't actually cure anything?

I don't think so, it didn't mention anything about that. The UI just picks which spell to cast on who, the actual mechanics of casting it & applying reuse are separate.

I'd rather have the ability to choose whether to cancel spellcast or queue the cure, but I guess if there's no option then cancelling the spellcast is the better way to go.

I'd love to see the ability to add some kind of chat to the cure curse click though. I personally like to announce it in raid chat and I know other people use a healer channel just for healers to keep each other updated.

Even without the macro ability, just adding click-to-cure will still be a great tool for those who don't use a UI mod. I'm glad you are adding it.

So when is the plan for these changes to go live? Are we stuck waiting until the next GU in November, or is there a chance that this is going to be pushed live in the interim, similar to the Guardian class changes?

Doesn't seem to be working for group click cure. I can click the icon, you can see it depress but no cast with it.

I sure like seeing the mob casting bar!

Edit: It does seem to work sometime, but with a lengthy time delay between the click and the cast.

Simply because the brawler self cures are usable while stunned and I like to use them in specific scenarios where i need to cure myself when I am stunned and not any normal aoe. Keep them separate so that I can choose when I want to use the self cure.

Gotta give credit where credit is due... Lot of folks were upset with the cosmetic only changes to the UI, and asked why some functional UI was not added (especially click to cure). This is definitely a step in the right direction. GJ SoE
