Is there a fix for this error 1015 at all? I'm using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and not having any sort of success with being able to use the normal way to launch eq2. the only way i'm actually able to get into the game is through the station launcher whih kinda sucks. at any rate if anyone has or knows of a fix for this error I would appreciate some info on how to go about getting it fixed. I've searched all the error 1015 posts and haven't found any kind of a fix or solution.

The "1015" error means that the (new) LaunchPad was unable to load the "digest" - the file that describes the assets that need to be on your machine to properly install/patch/launch the game.

When you got that error, it should have displayed the URL that it is trying to download from. If you try opening it directly in your web browser, does that work?

-dan

I'm using the station launcher i said that in my original post and as for trying to go to the url in the error message I tried that and got nothing just a no such url try again kind of thing. So as i stated the only way i'm actually able to log into the game and play is through the station launcher. What happened to the old days of you double clicked on the executable file and it brough up the launcher/patcher and having to log in the old fashioned way? It had the news, patch notes the whole nine yards. anyway if there is no fix i'll just have to go about logging into the game and playing the way i have been. this is the url that comes up with the error 1015 http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/p...en%5Btcg%5D.soe or http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/p...1805/eq2-en[tcg].soe i've tried both of them and get a sorry the page you are looking for could not be found. Is there somewhere i could just download the needed digest file and be able to fix this whole issue?

I just tried the streaming client to install eq2 on a new computer and I'm having the same issue. Any word on a fix/workaround?

the only fix/work around i've found is using the station launcher. it's the only way i am able to log into the game and play

Okay...now that I see the URL, I can understand how you could be seeing that error...there is an error in the configuration that you are getting delivered.

What is the version of the Application (click on the "Info" or "Options" button...the version is on that dialog)?

After you check this, could you go to the Internet Options control panel, click on the Delete... button (under browsing history) and delete your "Temporary Internet files" (second check box from top). You do not have to remove your cookies or other stuff - I'm just looking for the Temporary files.

Then, re-start the LaunchPad and check the version again.

I appreciate your help on this. I really want to get it straightened out.

-dan

Thanks for looking into this Dan. That makes a lot of sense.

I ran into this issue yesterday and did clear out IE's cache (the one in Internet Options). However, the problem is still happening. Should the UI be able to update itself automatically? That's, unfortunately, not happening. Would you mind providing a link to where we could download the latest UI from directly?

The one I'm running was downloaded from http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=461076 (that link is close to a year old now). Is there a new one available somewhere?

Hey, actually I wonder if this alternative would also work:

I'm running another computer which has no problems launching/updating eq2. Presumably that's because the launcher was updated properly when the change first went live, whereas the old (broken) one on my new machine has no way of knowing how to parse a resource file in a new format.

So can I just update the launcher by hand? Copy the .exes/.dlls from my working machine to the non-working one, register the .dlls (if they're still using COM?) and let it patch? Perhaps you could provide some of the following info:

1. I'll assume I need to replace all the files in the Everquest II folder (which is quite small after the streaming client first installs, maybe 10 files?).

2. Are there any reg entries/settings I need to add as well?

I'm guessing that in the future, it might make sense to version the digest files and have an "oldest format" one always available for download, even if all it says is "download this to update the launcher to the point where it can read the real digest", as long as the old client is available for users

I've done everything clear out the temp internet files in both internet explorer 8 as well as mozilla and still i get this error 1015. Where can i download a more recent updated version of the launcher since it's obvious the one available for download through direct2drive is not current. i mean honestly it would be nice to be able to just double click and log in without having to use the station launcher. or can someone please do me the honors of giving me a download link for the version 339 of the ui? since the launcher i am using isn't able to update from the ui version i currently have installed on my pc. I'm really sorry to ask this but since i know of no other way to fix this error 1015 i'm having to resort to some other way to fix the error so i can use the old double click on the desktop launcher for eq2. ok i fixed it I think. http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/th.df62c8f7eb.jpg (http://www.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?df62c8f7eb.jpg)

is the eq2 launcher i'm used to using. and it's what i am now using. instead of installing to program data folder this installs into the program files folder where eq2 is normally installed. it's installed and is patching just fine without having to go through the station launcher. thank you google and an 18mb install file.

The 1015 error is a problem in reading the configuration by the application. It is not able to retrieve the file from the URL. I would really like to find out how this is happening.

Could you post your LaunchPad.ini file - it will tell me what your client is looking for. Also, what version of the app are you seeing (available from the "Options" button).

-dan
