I am starting a Zerker and am curious on what triggers procs like Rune of Mending on my weapons. If I put points into AOE auto-attack, double attacks, Attack speed, and use a faster weapon which of these actually effects how often I have things triggering?

Thanks!

Theoretically, none. If an item says it has a proc rate of 2.0 per minute over time, it should average out to 2.0x per minute roughly. The only things can actually directly affect trigger rate are certain buffs that state they affect trigger rate, such as a templar's blessings AA. That isn't to say you may not spike and proc more then the stated proc rate or less then the stated proc rate during any given fight, just that the proc rate should average out in the end.

aoe attack will give you more triggers as long as you have more then one mob to hit.

like davio said attack speed will grant you more triggers since it takes a slower weapon and makes it hit faster.

a natural 3 second weapon at 100% haste will hit every 1.5 seconds(about) but it will grant you more triggers then a natural 1.5 second weapon even if they are both hitting mobs the same amount of times.

hope i explained that well enough to be understood

You explained that perfectly! One final question, does crits effect the AOE and auto attacks as well?

I wonder if that is why there's some hint that AOE proc per mob is gonna get nerfed to % per cast instead of % per mob hit as it is now...

I think I remember seeing only some get crits around me if I don't have 100% (crit chance applied at each mob instead of ability button press). Someone can correct me if I err.

Currently every target that an aoe auto attack lands on has a chance of firing a heal proc.

Personally I think this is something we'll eventually see nerfed to just the direct target, as the resulting heals when geared correctly is rather significant.

Though I haven't looked yet to see if they screwed this all back up with introducing off-hand aoe auto. Someone said off-hand aoe auto's were triggering flurries too, anybody able to confirm that?
