Hello, I just started an Inquistor and want to start up a tradeskill. I'm partnered up w/ a Beserk who recommended he go weaponsmith and I go armorsmith but from what I'm reading about armorsmith, I'm not sure if that's the best idea.

Does anyone else have a suggestion? We don't have any other toons but am confiedent that we'll blow through lvls fast...

Any suggestions are welcome.

Personally I'd suggest Berserker go alchemist (makes all the fighter combat art upgrades) and the you go sage to be able to make all your own spell upgrades.

The way I see it you get more spells per tier than armor/weapon slots and spell upgrades usually cost more than gear. Of course if you have friends (or alts) that do those crafts you'd be set. Important difference between this game and some other games is your crafting level is completely different than your adventuring level so you can be a level 1 adventurer and a level 90 crafter if you choose. That makes alts for crafting always an option =), if you don't mind crafting.

There's a lot of trades that you can do. Personally I wouldn't recommend weaponsmith, as you should be able to find quested weapons relatively easily, while armorer can make Mastercrafted armor for both that might come in handy some times. The second TS you could do Sage (for Inquis spells) or Alchemist (for Fighter CAs) or do something else entirely. I recommend making a few items as an artisan L1-9 (maybe do the tutorial quest, which has you make pretty much one item from each TS class) and pick which kind of items you like the most to make. You can definately survive without tradeskilling for yourself, especially if you're blowing through levels fast (meaning you won't be using the items very long).

I recommend gathering everything. For the old tier zones, it helps with getting the nodes you want to respawn, plus it also keeps your skill up. Materials that you don't end up needing you can always sell on the broker -- have I mentioned that some lower tier common harvests go anywhere from 1 silver up to even 1 gold a piece on the broker? Selling your excess harvests can be a good way to make a bit of money on the side while keeping your skill going up and giving you more chances at rares.
