Trying the EQ2X server .. download everything again ?

<p>Hello,</p><p>I want to try a character on EQ2X just to enjoy the population there while it lasts.</p><p>I don't want to download everything egain, not to mention the significant bump in my monthly bandwidth for doing so.</p><p>Did anyone try to run EQ2X by copying the EQ 2 folder? What do you do after copying the folder?</p><p>Last time I tried the streaming client ran my game in regular subscription mode, but there were glitches in Gorowyn.</p><p>Where can I download the actual EQ2X client that won't run my folder in EQ 2 regular mode ?</p>

<p>Actually, there are a lot of people from EQ2 over there.  Some go for the grouping abilities....</p>

<p>I'm at work right now so I can't look at the file structure, but I think you can copy the files from the assets directory from your live install into the extended's assets folder and that will take care of the majority of the files.</p><p>Just download the extended installer, let it install and start updating and then copy the files over.</p>

<p>Hmm alright I'll try again with the EQ2X Installer.</p><p>@yohann: you're right, it's very cool and you are in the game in less than 10 minutes, but you will end up downloading a lot over time. Althought it's true as well that until you go level 90 you're likely never to have to download half of the game content <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </p>

<p>once you begin the eq2x download and create the file. copy your asset folders and 90% of your downloading is done.</p>

<p>Ok it works. I copied the "paks" and "music" folders.</p>
