Rivald was running about the Nerian market and came across some idle chatter..

I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that Neriak had taken the Ewer after DoF sometime, but this little bit arises the following questions:

Who was trying to use the Ewer of Sul'Dae?

Is this why Cristanos has that awesome new voice, and is this related to what power she has/what is controling her?

Is this the source of the Vampires in Neriak? No wait,

The Vampire that Harrasses you in Akhen Aken/Silent City is Malkonis D'Morte, right? Well here is his house, can assume that he was the one that took it and brought it back here. But the D'Morte's were exiled from Neriak due to finding the Sul'Dae. What gives?

Well, when you actually go inside of the House, you find not D'Morte, but...

D'Ryil.

So, I guess the question is this: The Ewer of Sul'Dae is back in Neriak. Did it create these Vampires as well? They clearly have the Queen's approval to exist..

The ones that hunted down the D'Morte's were the Indigo Brotherhood, who were allies with King Naythox Thex, of course. Now that he's dead, could D'Morte have found a better ally in the Queen, making a haven for the Vampire to exist in Neriak?

Hell, is the Queen a Vampire herself! Scandal abound!

Malkonis D'Morte was the one who originally tried to use the Ewer, back in DoF before Neriak was added in.

It is the reason why vampires are in Neriak.

It is not the reason why Christanos has a demonic voice - that is still not explained.

The House is just a tavern named after him.

Was just speculating and maybe going off the deep end on that.

The Ewer was/is being reconstructed in Neriak right now.

From Vhalen:

House D'Morte's seeds were sown in EQLive. Early on, pieces of their story began to appear within Neriak, namely, The Lodge of the Dead. Although their story was never fully told, the roots existed. There is a portion of old Neriak that used to hold their original villa and the agents charged with the ongoing hunt of the vampire house could be found.

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=187378

Malkonis D'Morte tried to use the Ewer way before DoF. He was already exiled by then, went to the Sul'Dae and messed them all up. Vhalen suggests that their were still D'Morte family members around in EQ1. Whatever Vampires were made by his first use of the Ewer would be long gone. These D'Ryil Vampires are new. Were they created when Neriak got the Ewer back and tried to reconstruct it?

Or maybe the vampire house he's talking about is the D'Morte house in EQ2.

It looks like its apart of the whole power stuggle. Parts of Neriak wants you to hunt Vampires, but there they are sitting within the city safe and sound.

I dunno lol, just sayin stuff.

If the Indigo Brotherhood and the Spires of Innoruuk had their way, there would be nothing but Teir'Dal in Neriak, Cristanos the Heretic would be dead, and Prince Tarant Thex would rule. These questions wouldn't have to be asked, because the vampires would have been purged.

However the other D'Morte members were indeed hunted down and slain by the Indigo Brother hood.... AND the Dead.

If you do the Bloodline Chronicles theres a D'Morte burial chamber where it shows headstones of different D'Morte family members "Slain by the Dead in the Age of Turmoil". However with the... "Tragic assassination" of King Naythox, Queen Cristanos adapted a new policy of vampiric citizens sighting their number can never go beyond 20, (though I'm sure they bend that rule) and if ever the Dead need them to be sacrificed or disected for research they must allow themselves to be used as experiments.

As for the members of the D'Ryil, I've assumed that they were the workers of the Dark Bargainers that accidently unleashed the vampiric curse upon themselves. With Crisantos consolidating power she allowed them to stay as they were putting the Ewer back together. The Ewer in Neriak is why Cristanos forbade the Nights of the Dead to be celebrated among Neriak's citizens, as some other undead do in Maj'Dul they roam the streets looking for it.

However they wont roam much longer as in the Anashti deity quests followers of the peacock infiltrate Neriak and actually get different dialogue from Sharnar D'Zauer and threaten his life. He quickly sides with his neck rather then loyalty to Cristanos and you "we" fight through a Dark Bargainer storage house (large Nerian home 7 room version) full of freshly turned vampires. The worshiper of Anasthi then uses water from the Fyr river from the living tombs and pours it into the newly reconstructed Ewer allowing Anashti's to feel its presence and send it back to the Peacock Palace.

Cristanos' voice.. is... something of speculation...

kelvmor wrote:

If the Indigo Brotherhood and the Spires of Innoruuk had their way, there would be nothing but Teir'Dal in Neriak, Cristanos the Heretic would be dead, and Prince Tarant Thex would rule. Tarant is Seloxia's and Naythox's child who decided to side with Cristanos when she made her powerplay to the dismay of many of the Indigo Brotherhood's higher officers.

I just decided to pop into EQ1 and check out the Lodge of the Dead on my necro.

The lodge is the Necromancer's guild hall in Neriak Third Gate. I saw no signs of any D'Mortes there, and the few npcs that talked to me did not mention anything at all about any of this. This is maybe the closest anything came (but I truly do not think it's related to the topic):

[Tue Sep 07 09:08:04 2010] You say, 'Hail, Talorial D`Estalian'[Tue Sep 07 09:08:04 2010] Talorial D`Estalian says 'On what grounds do you think you are welcome to address me like that vermin? I am afraid you will have to prove yourself to me before I can treat you with any respect. Do you feel that you are [worthy] to stand before me?'[Tue Sep 07 09:08:09 2010] You say, 'I am worthy'[Tue Sep 07 09:08:10 2010] Talorial D`Estalian says 'Very well then, you are lucky that I have been looking for some sort of an apprentice to help me out in gathering some hides from those nasty halflings. I did have a young one as yourself working for me before but unfortunately they didn't work out as you can see by looking at this autopsy table. I would hope that you will complete my [tasks], for your sake.'[Tue Sep 07 09:08:23 2010] You say, 'what tasks'[Tue Sep 07 09:08:23 2010] Talorial D`Estalian says 'If you are willing to [gather some items] that are needed for specific halfling hides I can offer you with the resources necessary to fashion your own armor.'

I guess none of this is very helpful, was really hoping to find some hidden nugget on there. The only other thing of note is that ghouls act as guards to the Lodge of the Dead.
