This app might work for some people but for others it just don't work. I honestly

don't think SOE has any idea whats going on. From what I've seen and heard

there are to many people having issues. Also, seeing that it took almost a

week to get a reply on the Support forum, I don't think they really care.

My solution, if you have the streaming version is to just delete it. Go back

to using the original launchpad. You can download it here...

http://download.station.sony.com/pa.../eq2/eq2-us.zip

This launch pad (Legacy) installs the game in a different directory than the

Streaming one. So if you have the room on your hard drive you can install both.

If you don't have the room, goto your current EQ2 folder and save all files

that contains your character's names in the title. This isn't nessacery but it

is nice if you don't want to redo all your UI settings.

Once Legacy is done installing, it is going to take a while it needs to download

the entire game (12Gig +) then just paste those files you copied into the new

EQ2 directory.

Enjoy login bliss.

Have you seen how hard the TSR and Dan are working this week? I would be surprised if they have any hair at all left! There have been a LOT of quirks since GU 57 came about and they have been trying to help as many as they can.

Thank you for this piece of advice!

There is a post or two but a post or two in a week on a support forum, not just my thread, isn't very good. I might be off a few posts but I've been checking other posts too to see if there are replies.

I'm also not pointing fingers at the TSR/Dan, I'm sure they are busy. This game produces a lot of money though. The company makes a lot of money. There could be more help. That itself is a whole different subject though.

Anyways, I can login worry free and its double xp, Imma go levelz

Doesent work for me ;-(

Downloaded, installed, started EQ2 to patch.

Launchpad started, patched a few file and the abort with [Window: "EverQuest II LaunchPad" Images could not be loaded.]

And i allways looked for an way to just download the whole game, instead of this sucky streaming patcher.

ATM he's patching EQ2.

I renamed LaunchPad.exe to LaunchPad.exe.bac and renamed LaunchPad.exe.bak to LaunchPad.exe and then clicked on the newly renamed LaunchPad.exe. It worked but it turned the LaunchPad.exe that I had renamed back into LaunchPad.exe.bak and now I have no LaunchPad.exe at all. However, if I click on Launcher.exe (which I never messed with) the game loads fine.

Be sure to right-click on the launchpad and click "Run as Administrator". It's downloading fine now.

Glad you got in though, at least someone can enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Renaming the Bak file to exe just made the game re-update the launchpad and then whallah still stuck. SO re-naming isnt going to work unless you can keep it from updating.

Ok Ive tried a few things but this seems to work.*tried this fix on two machines and it worked* Click on your world *if win7* type in hidden files in the search box and then click on what comes up so you can enable hidden files and folders. Then go into your computer and select the program data, then the sony then the eq and find all the files with Launcher.. you have to delete them all.. not just the ini or the exe. Now go back to EQ 2 and download the game .. it will install again.. *your settings will / should still be there so dont worry about that* It will give an error with the Icon.. click ignore to get past it.. click run.. it will go through the setup and you should be able to login again. *I am not sure if it will patch again to an unusable version if you exit and re-launch so I sugges you use that login that comes up*. Its the only fix I found that has worked. GL all.

Why should I have to be a techno wizard to pay money to soe to play their game. I just downloaded and bought the game yesterday. Must be time to close the subscription. SOE is a POS as usual.

We are having an issue (to put it mildly) with our network provider that is serving up the UI.

We are on the phone with them now.

-dan

We had a network issue with our provider this morning that was preventing the LaunchPad from loading its UI. That should now be resolved.

-dan
