I can see in that misdirected thread above that it's affecting eq2x as well. So far as I can see, there's no stated outages.

There is a hotfix going in, it was posted well in advance here: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=486078

The scheduled downtime is also listed on the network status page.

Ah excellent. Thank you Barx.

Edit: I have been caught several times unawares because I keep looking in the wrong place. When I want to check the network status of the servers, I go to the section labeled Network Status here: http://everquest2.com/serverstatus/ .

Nowhere on that page are there discussion threads. And up until 9:45CST, it said all servers were up. This is 45 minutes after they went down.

I was looking at your posted link here: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=486078 . To get to that, I need to go to the Norrathian Herald and then Official News and Announcements. This is not logical to me. The network status page should show the actual network status and the page should be updated in advance with a textual relay of the current planned outage.

This isn't going to be a problem for me anymore cause I've put some thought into it now and I'll remember. But for the future, SOE, you might consider my suggestion(s) to avoid folks pointlessly trying to log in after they've checked network status is good and then ultimately creating threads on it.

Nice how SOE posted that LATE last night. More than enough time for EVERYONE who plays to read it and know about it. Yep, quality f*cking job Sony!!!

Nothing against you Barx. I'm not here to slay the messenger.

The problem with the servers showing as up on the network status page even when they're down is not a new one, it's something we keep bugging SOE about but they have not been able to fix it yet. And though it doesn't make sense, if you click on "More Details" next to where it says all the servers are up it will give you information on future downtime. Don't ask me why they thought it made sense to put the future downtime notices behind a click on a box that isn't intuitively related though.
