with the new changes coming out what is going to be better to use for dps/tank. is 2 hander still going to do more dps or is dual wielding going to be the better choice?

if it is dual wielding what are the best weapons to use for tanking and dps? here in the next few days i will be using the sublime weapon + the weapon from lair for dps if they are better, and for tanking will be using the sublime weapon and the weapon off the library name in labs, drawing a blank on the name (it is the ghost owl guy). but what is going to be the better choice once the change goes live

Duel wielding will be the only viable option from after the next update.

"COMBAT-

Flurry and AE autoattack can now happen with off hand weapons as well as with ranged weapons."

This was snipped from here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=486043

Crane Twirl now also adds 20% AE Auto-Attack chance.

Brawlers should see some decent dps increase from this.

Yes, but the part you dont' mention here is that 2 handed weapons are being buffed as well. In fact the reason they are adding offhand flurry and aoe autoattack is to keep dual wielding in line with 2 handed. One other major thing to consider in my opinion is that if you're tanking you can also factor in ripposte damage, and ripposte damage is better with a 2 hander than dual wielding.

that is why i am asking, it is hard to explain in words why i use a 2 hander atm, and i am sure there is an easy way to put it but i like to over think things =). but based off the test server what is the better option when this goes live.

For the longest time, I used a 2hander for the simple fact that it looked more BA than dual wield.

Parry is the first avoidence check that is made when you get hit. Any successful parry has a chance to become a ripposte. If they really equalled the base dps of a 2 hander versus dual wield, when you are tanking the 2 hander would become better because of the added ripposte damage.

Bottom line is this.

If you have a better 2 hander then a pair of dual wields then the 2 hander is better to use.If your dual wields are better or equal to a 2 handers dps then the dual wield are better to use.

Testing auto atk on the test copy server on a raid dummy the 2 hander from vazclaz is better then the sublime fist and cloud sword. I have no idea how much dps will be added by raid 100% procs. So after this update goes live I MIGHT use the vazclaz weapon instead (until I can upgrade the sublime), I will need to check it out on live in raids.
