Let's start this out right, Illusionist as they are now are pretty messed up.

Here's what else is obvious, many of you were around when Coercers where so useless a couple of years ago now (my how time flys when you are having fun). We ranted, we made nasty snide remarks, posts disappeared, and we got banned. All of it accomplished nothing, zero, zilch, nada. It wasn't until you couldn't find a Coercer anywere for any reason that Sony was finally forced to do something. Many like myself simply switched our mains and refused to play our Coercers for any reason. Others ( a lot of them ) betrayed and a few and unfortunately some of the best Coercers quit all together. So just an observation, all of your ranting isn't going to get you anywhere. The Devs do read the forums, but really don't care. They are already working on something more important such as working on the next expansion, setting around thinking of what else can be put on SC without too much of an uprising or whatever they have already been tasked with. Your problems are not figured in to the "program"... sorry. Maybe a few updates from now you might see something, but don't count on it. Up until two weeks before the "big fix" to Coercers, we were being told that there was nothing wrong with our class. Somehow I found that very funny, the kind of funny that makes you laugh until you cry.

And once they do "fix" you, don't count on it being what you asked for. One of our biggest complaints was Crowd Control. It obviously didn't get touched much less fixed. So if you are a raider like myself, you have 8 to 10 spells that are totally useless, and if you are like me, not even on a hot bar. Why clutter up my screen? Actually they didn't fix any of the things we were complaining about, they just gave us a huge dps boost hoping that would shut us up. Guess it kind of worked. There hasn't been hardly any posts in the Coercer forums in a long time. Most of us are just burned out and gave up. CC is never going to happen, period. It is dead and gone. Might as well stick a fork into that complaint.

Well you have my best wishes in getting something done. Just hope you don't have to do something as dramatic as what we had to do for the fixes that you deserve. Good luck!

Thanks for your post and insight...

This is all pretty much what I've assumed in regards to any changes coming to my class.

Yeah, I am pretty much in the camp that we are being hoodwinked. If I thought at ALL they were actually going to be serious and make updates to the class, I wouldn't let me account expire (18 days and counting!). But I fear it is what it is; which is a handful of empty promises to stave off the hemmorhage from the class and subscriptions. The dev communication is like giving a starving dog a pat on the head instead of a bone.

Anyone who complains about CC is playing the wrong game, frankly. It hasn't been an essential part of heroic content, much less raiding, and it never will be. I loved the CC role in EQ1, but EQ2 is just a fundamentally different game and it's unlikely they'll ever change that.

Complaints need to focus on areas they're actually likely to address, such as illusionist vs coercer dps, the utility and playability of our buffs, and so on.

Yes, CC is a dead subject that would only cloud the issue of getting Illusionist fixed. If you are demanding CC as a condition of you playing your Illusionist or even keeping your account, well sorry guess we'll see you later is a different game. Don't worry about DPS. You'll get a boost since that is about the only way they know how to "fix" a class. Personally if I was an Illusionist I'd be pushing my requested changes to your utility and spell usefullness.

Again, good luck. I'll be watching from the peanut gallery.
