I'm a returning player and took about a year off.

I know a good hus/wife combo is tank/healer but would a two healer combo make it easier to fill groups and raids?

The problem with tank/healer is the fighter when you go to raid.

In fact I ended up playing a Coercer for a few expansions due to the limited tank slots and I cringed every time I had to log him in, lol.

I even tried a bard but it was not me and everyone has a dps alt they want to bring.

Back on subject. Can a two healer combo work out over all or is it an over killl?

Two healers can do some groups, the main area you're going to be hurting in is DPS. At the high end some priests can do decent DPS, but even then it's well behind what a similarly-geared DPS class or even fighter might be doing.

it is probably the worst possible combo, but you can do at least most content without needing an other player. Most groups also only need one healer. You can run groups with two healer, esp. if one or both are dps oriented healers, and there are many pickup groups doing this, but is far from optimal. For groups the tank / healer would also be best to build groups, as you most likely can do most zones with this setup. You will only want more people so you are faster. If you don't want to pick a tank a melee healer and a scout or a spell based healer and a mage will also work quite well. You will only have a harder time building groups as you need a tank for that. For raids the normal setup is still: 8 support classes 6-8 healers (and probably a 9th twink healer for a few curse heavy encounters, if you are lazy). 2-3 tanks 5-8 DPS classes So tanks have still the hardest time gaining a raid spot, but on the other side it is more important what you like to play. The chance that you play your class well is a lot hight if you like playing that class. And if you play well your chance to get a spot in a raid is still higher as if you are a mediocre player of a needed class. So I would still recommend that you play the class you like to play. Also 'cause that is also why we are here: To have fun!
