Any confirmation that the new GU will go live tomorrow? I know there has been speculation, but couldn't see if it was confirmed or not.

Thanks!

Ugh.

Would have been nicer if there was a bit more (read: any) meaningful dialog between SOE and the community regarding the outstanding sticking points that we seem to still have, but I guess that would mean they'd have to do more work, and dammit, it's summer, they should be relaxing.

Hi guys! Right now we are scheduled for tomorrow, but there can always be last minute changes. So plan for the update tomorrow, and if for any reason it doesn't happen, I'll be updating the news in the Official News and Announcements forum.

I'm working on the feature for the GU today, highlighting some of the new and changed things as well as the full list of notes. The team's notes are always still in flux until the last minute, because of final QA approvals and such.

I'm planning to post my article either later tonight or early tomorrow. Keep an eye out in the Community News forum and on EverQuest2.com for the post.

Thanks!

Kool, I sure hope something substantive shows up. So far it looks like 100% Fluff.

The new difficult instance that was previewed at FanFaire should be going in with the GU, unless they decided to hold it back for some reason. So we should at least have some kind of new thing to do (although I'm sure they'll have some kind of live event / prelude as well, they usually do).

New difficult instance? Potentially meaningful content? What's is this instance?

It wasn't on test, hasn't been talked about, and I really don't think they're just gonna throw an instance into an update with no testing... I mean at least some semblance of trying to test it is required for new instances, I would think.

Amnerys, are the druid ring rebuilding vendors going out too, or will they stay behind and we just can't earn more florets?

First time I actually have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach for a GU. There have been some things in last updates that didn't thrill me, but I actually dread this one. Is this how it's supposed to be?

The belief is that the instance that was previewed at Fan Faire (Zraxth's Unseen Arcanum or something like that) would be going in with the GU. It wasn't on test because it was kept for Fan Faire so that everyone going in on the event there would be on the same experience level with the zone (no one would know it already from Test).

I still hope that it will be going in with this GU and not GU58, because otherwise GU57 will be incredably lacking for content. One new difficult instance would at least be something for people to work on, instead of cosmetic changes, a few newbie experience fixes, and a lot of other potatoes without any meat. There's no excuse for a 3-month GU not to have at least some new content (a new instance or raid, basically).

It was meant to say all US servers. I removed the wording later in the day, and updated the new messaging to say all US servers. My apologies for the confusion. The UK servers will be updated according to the usual schedule.

I love having to go to fan sites to find out official announcements, its really awesome). He might have said its coming in the "Game update" but I'm fairly confident that means 58, not 57. If I'm wrong, I will gladly eat crow (but let it be said here and now, if they DO add in a "hard challenging instance" with no testing, it WILL be bugged and/or suck and completely miss the mark).

Having ZERO new zones or events to do is pretty sad for a GU. They never specifically said it was to go in with 57, but that was the message I got when I saw how the zone was presented for Fan Faire.
